Lone Wolf Posted March 6, 2021 Posted March 6, 2021 England just missed a golden opportunity.. This could've been 2012 repeat or close to it. Jaddu Shami were not there.. RAT didn't pick Umesh & our batting line up is non existent bar 3 players... Now the deadwood will be kicked out in a away series unlike in 2012 at home so expect the streak to continue. Australia in 2023 won't be able to stop it... Most likely Chepu Rahane will be long gone.. Rohit & RAT's farewell series. Hopefully Sundar Gill & Shaw will be established players by then

Oz can win here - it's cricket after all, but they're highly unlikely to given the state of their batting & almost non existent bowling apart from Cummins. One test wonders ala SoK don't count! any team needs just two one-test wonders to win a series. If Kohli had stayed on as captain, we may have lost the 2017 series. and in that series, rat and especially chepu were far better than today.

I do not see any other team beating India in India except Australia have some possibility. Cummins gives me that Marvel comics hero vibes, full of energy and will give his 100% till the end.

He reminds me even more of a character from a Japanese manga/anime series called "All Might" [series name: My Hero Academia]. Great player, great competitor, and great spirit of the game. MechEng 1

Great player, great competitor, and great spirit of the game. I rarely watch test cricket except for checking scorecards but I do remember watching little bit of Cummins bowling in Ranchi test where Pujara got slowest 200. He did not blow away the side like Steyn's 7/51 but that run up and the energy he put in every ball during that spell of short pitched bowling was mesmerizing.

SRT100 Posted March 6, 2021 Posted March 6, 2021 Does anyone know the schedule? Who do we play next at home????? Which are the next 3 countries at home?
coffee_rules Posted March 6, 2021 Posted March 6, 2021 What is the home record for most consecutive not losing series? Because India didn’t lose a home series from 1987 Pakistan series till South Africa 2000. 13 years Vijy 1

They only played 16 series at home in 22 years though winning 14 and drawing 2. coffee_rules and Vijy 2
putrevus Posted March 6, 2021 Posted March 6, 2021 Greatest captain in Indian history has turned this team into a juggernaut along with greatest coach in Indian history. They will win every silverware too, people need to be patient. adi B, Rasgulla and Jimmy Cliff 2 1

putrevus Posted March 6, 2021 Posted March 6, 2021 Unlike any Indian team in history, this team under Kohli and Shastri have fought hard in every match home and away.It did not matter if the series was won or lost. They competed hard in every match, that was trait which made the Australian teams great in 2000s. That is legacy of this captain and coach. Cricketics and Jay 1 1
Ankit_sharma03 Posted March 6, 2021 Posted March 6, 2021 Sabke bina kaam chal jayega aur sabki replacement hai but Ashwin ki nahin. If india wants to contniue doing well u need ashwin quality spinner . Guys like Axar n jaddu become more lethal in 2nd innings or pitches that turn from day 1 but on all days its ashwin
mancalledsting Posted March 6, 2021 Posted March 6, 2021 Our dominance previously came from gun batting Sehwag, Dravid, Sachin, VVS and currently from gun bowling Ashwin/Jadeja/Shami/Umesh. The streak will continue so long as one of those two arms are preserved. Ashwin/Jadeja are not getting older so either they need some replacements (can Axar do it long term?) or batting needs to step up e.g Gill, Washington.
Ankit_sharma03 Posted March 7, 2021 Posted March 7, 2021 (edited) If their is one team that has a minor chance its Australia but they need to get few things right Drop paine, knowing he is in a vulnerable position Kohli n ashwin will sledge the hell out of him and pant n gill wont be far behind Select Khawaja Select carrey Bring Ashton Agar- Jaddu Axar mould Starc form Luck that few indian bowlers get injured Edited March 7, 2021 by Ankit_sharma03
Majestic Posted March 7, 2021 Posted March 7, 2021 (edited) A bowling attack of Jadeja, Ashwin and Axar at home has become even more lethal now. In India, we will always go with two pacers and three spinners- Jadeja, Ashwin and Axar. Pujara, Kohli and Rahane looked mediocre but our bowling was too good to do the job and other young players are not just here to fill up the numbers. They showed what they can do. That batting trio failed for us but Rohit, Pant and Sundar did the job. If the same happened during Tendulkar era, we would have lost the series. Now, every single player is making valuable contributions. Edited March 7, 2021 by Majestic Vijy 1
