i agree with you,whats the point of slogging it through two years and finally playing in a neutral venue ? the top team deserves to pick the venue/

For the sake of making it fun I rather have a neutral venue. 
 

This is inaugural test so it wil be nice to win at a neutral venue than win at home

since it was set to be hosted earlier at Lords which was gonna be a neutral venue for both NZ and India. So now taking away neutral venue last minue isn’t good for NZ.

Lol Aus wants to host their own event, thats not possible, will never be.

 

MCG can be chosen as venue earlier though when AFL gaems aren’t happening but that means delaying WTC final.

No.

 

Victoria has horrible weather at the best times, there is a reason why it also has the Boxing Day Test on the 26th. A test match in October or November at the MCG would be a disaster, a washout is realistic.

 

AFL is played till the end of September. AFL owns the rights to the ground during this period.

Im fine with any venue like Eden, Wank or Mot.

 

As long as the pitch turns from Over 1, Ball 1.

 

Just like how the NZ prepare wickets to suit their bowlers.

BCCI and in particular Ganguly needs to sell this hard to the ICC.

What better advertisement for Test Match Cricket then to have the Final played in India.

 

It will be followed by a billion people. Not to say it wont be followed in England, but the impact will be felt in India long after the game has finished.

 

Not to mention, the playing time will suit me perfectly in Australia, 2pm to 10pm at night.

Top two test teams playing in a packed stadium, no better site can be imagined, This used to be the norm in 60s and 70s, not since .

Is the venue fixed before itself or decided to make it neutral based on who qualifies for the final? If Lords is fixed, if England had made it to the final, wouldn't they have had the benefit of home conditions?

given all the hoops we had to jump through to get to no. 1 in WTC, we should have had the chance to select the venue. and if we could, then I'd have chosen a spinning pitch. we would have axar-ashwin-jaddu with sundar as 4th spinner (and middle order bat), whereas NZ would be flailing about with santner and sodhi.

Yes but NZ and India both knew until few days before that they will play at Lord’s most likely.

So now moving to India won’t be good just as it won’t be good moving to NZ early either. That is my point.

 

Play even in Dubai, don’t care. But I wanna see India win at a neutral venue at least this time since we all knew this was going to be at a neutral venue for both India and NZ.

IMO Australia will be the best neutral venue. Fair to both teams, and batsmen as well as bowlers have equal opportunity.

a match at the oval or Rosebowl would suit us better than places like headingley, trent bridge or Durham. Even Lords would have been fine tbh, it is generally known for being flat. ICC tournament pitches tend to err on the side of batting rather than bowling friendliness and that should be even more relevant in a test championship final.

Stop crying over the venue.. I wabt want to see a great match rather than the same old predictable outcome at Indian pitches. Anyways  venues of finals of every tournament are pre decided
