He was always an average bowler. Considering the fact that he can't bat or field, he is one of the most fortunate cricketers at the moment who despite being middling is a regular in an Indian XI.

He has made earned over 50 crores in his international career - 30 crore of which is from IPL at 6 crore a yr for the last 4 yrs.

assuming he had 35 crore after taxes...

and spent 10-12 crore for his lifestyle., he still is worth 20-23 crores atleast.

It takes a life time for 99.9th percentile of India’s smartest professionals earning about

2 crores per year today to save that kind of money.

And here is poor quality cricketer saving up that Kind of money at the age of 30.

this is destiny , prarabdha karma.

Given such numbers, old fashioned thinking of "let him have a 10-12 year career, he is only 30-31" needs to be thrown away in the trash bin. 3-4 years is good enough to amass a lifetime's worth of riches. Keep the pipeline of talent flowing - let other, more eager players come in and have their chance. If they also are good only for 2-3 years, so be it. There will always be replacements available for them.
