DK commentary watch

Quite liked it. Inquisitive, articulate, decent analysis. Maybe sometimes gets carried away too much and talks more than required? Could be nerves, anyway always room for improvement. Have we finally managed to land a decent commentator after the horror shows of Dasgupta, Siva, Sanju, Murali Karthik etc?

 

Hope to hear more from him. Even his appearances on Sky during Eng series earlier this year were impressive. Has potential, more than his playing career at least 

 

Will he be there during the Eng series?

Like at the crease, he was a bundle of nerves with the mike. I noticed a few mix-ups, notable amongst them "My first ever debut test.....& Sunny G being batting consultant" etc.

But he sure does have potential :-)

He is going to commentate for ECB'S Hundred tournament. Seems Sky is impressed with him. Can see him being regular for sky sports.

I think he will become better with time.  He does try a bit too hard sometimes.  Sanga DK & Isa was interesting combo looked like both of em were trying to impress her lol. 

Much better than Cringe machines like Kartik & Deep das

He was okay but my mind was being *ed when Sanga/DK started giving lectures about zen, becoming a better person etc etc instead of commentating about cricket for around 20 whole minutes.

Only thing is he won't  criticise Kohli too much as he's still a current player

Would have been better if he didn't as hard to be funny.

Major upgrade over the likes of Bhogle, Manju. Has good insights. Just needs to turn off his inner patriot during analysis and he will be a regular at sky for the foreseeable future.

That's so true. Sanga was giving all life lesson with his fake call center accent. Which was really not needed there, Karthik just mentioned it was nice to hang around with Sanga during one match, and after that sanga went on and on for next 10 mins about how it's important to be a good person than just good cricketer as if Guha would kiss him after listening that blabber of a call center employee.

Noticed this with Gavaskar and even Sanju. They bring out their A game in commentary if they ever end up commenting on a neutral game. They are usually spot on with their analysis and observations but when commenting on Indian game they start treading carefully. That’s when the mediocrity kicks in.
 

DK seems to be in the same league so far.

breath of fresh air, very few indian commentators understand modern game ...and he is someone who is still playing so he brings a completely fresh perspective
