Open Letter to Virat Kohli

For country's sake, I request you to hand over the captaincy and play under Rahane in this cycle.

You are still the "greatest" player of the team and no one will ever take the limelight from you. You can also focus on your batting.

The entire country will appreciate you for your selfless move and stories will be written on your graciousness for generations to come - essentially free PR!

Please consider this!

Sachin had 10 times more aura of invincibility ,adoration and following among the masses than this pretender ever will. He could have easily ruled Indian cricket and made BCCI his lapdog for at least a decade but he put the team first (and maybe his playing career too) and stepped aside.

We can only dream of any such thing with this fake PR wala...

Agree when Sachin played rest of players were initially horse **** till fab 4 grp and Kumble came by.

Sachin was humble, knew his strengths and limitations.. and focused on his strengths.

This clown has zero self awareness, he picks players, coaches, selectors that pamper his clownery. His on-field antics and so-called aggression are pukeworthy .

Sad thing is, he can focus on his batting and end up being one of the greatest legend of the game with a legacy. Instead his ego won't let him leave captaincy and it is now affecting his batting too. He will soon end up behind Smith and maybe even root and Williamson

Sachin and later to some extent Dravid didn’t need to be insecure about their slot. Captaincy was an additional burden and when they thought it was getting in their way to success and as a result the teams they decided to move on.

Sunny G and Kapil Dev while they had their own politics never let captaincy get in the way or indulge in power struggle. Kapil won 1983 WC that’s probably the greatest cricketing underdog story of all time, imagine a hype a captain would get if they pull that off now? He was removed as captain by 1985.  Gavaskar won the 85 World Series and then voluntarily stepped down after a year.

Azhar was an accidental captain. While he did politic for a while, he had other intentions for which he needed some power. Don’t think he cared much about the captaincy itself.

All this captaincy drama started with Ganguly. While Chappells methods might have been crude and abrasive, he was right to ask the captain to perform or get out. You can’t ride in the captaincy coattails without on field performance.

It became worse under Dhoni. This is when captains started getting bigger than BCCI bar 1-2 supermos like say Srini,Dalmiya or Pawar. He had 0 accountability and every time you would think there would be criticism, the social media was flooded with images of a random byte behind the stump or a straightforward catch/ stumping.

We have gone full retard with Kohli. Now those 1-2 supreme leaders have also disappeared. BCCI reports to Kohli now.

Why would anyone give up such power? Someone need to step in and put  things in place. I thought Ganguly would be that guy but looks like he is just another BCCI babu.

Please let’s not compare Chokohlibaba with SRT. The former has dubious technique. The way he wafted at the Jamieson delivery and got out in the second innings looked like he dipping a ice cream cone in hot chocolate.

He talks about making changes in the test team. First you drop yourself as a captain or just get the f out. You are a cancer to the team pysche. The team mentality transforms when you are not there.

"We are a family. We move forward". Kohli has already tweeted what future looks like.

Pujara will be made the fall guy, there have been comments on Pant's approach but the dickhead hasn't said a word on his own pathetic clueless captaincy

Along with that power comes also mega million dollar contracts, Kohli would be foolish to do whats best for Indian cricket and step down.

It wont happen for a long while yet.

He took India to Number 2 in Test match cricket, which he will claim is all his own doing.
