If by the end of the innings after batting throught the s.r is 133 then tht surely doesnt help the team . We go after kohli n rohit but those 2 are close to 140 in international cricket and can really damage in the end.

That's why rankings need to improve for T20 batting. These Kohli's, Babar's, Malan's, Rizwan's anchor their way to number one rankings & get plaudits from ignorant commentators.

I’ve always said that a minimum S/R criteria has to to be somehow applied in t20i rankings to weed out the shameless accumulators

Ranking should be solely based on impact

Rizwan bubble is going to burst sooner or later, they should atleast enjoy till it lasts rather than comparing him with other players. This comparison is totally illogical, Age difference of 5-6 yrs between them, Pant has not even cemented his place in LOIs.

Rizwan is a great player but both him and Barbie benefit a lot from playing in a mediocre batting lineup. And that too as an opening pair..

They have all the license to do tuk tuk in the initial overs, get settled in and then go for their shots as they know there's not much to come after they depart. Combine this with the fact that they keep playing mediocre teams like Zim, SAF C, England F etc and you end up with these bradmanesque averages. :phehe:

You give guys like Iyer, Rahul, Pandey etc that luxury and even they'll come up with world beating numbers.

Those stats are from their entire t20 career from 2018 as openers and not just this year, try harder because these ishan kishans and iyers arent pulling this consistency and bradmanesque stats off.

Arey don't get mad, Abdul. I did say both of em are quality players.. actually 'great' players by Pakistani standards. But you can't deny the fact that their recent stats are bloated by playing Zimbabwe, SAF C (with a club level bowling attack of Magala, lizard, sipmla) and England F.

No big proof of that than the recent series where they whacked a weakened England attack for 150/0 in 14 overs in the first game but as soon as Rashid and Jordan returned, they were shown their place.

But yeah they're brilliant players against low tanked teams. I'll give them that.

Talent wise it is Pant.

Can only compare both once Pant has established himself in the team.

Rizwan is in a purple patch right now but if continues in this same vein for few years then he deserves all the praise he gets.

Yup agreed. Not sure when Pant is gonna be able to overcome that especially since he plays lower down which makes looking at his sr even worse

Lets check his str rate 15 matches from now.

I don't think anybody in Asia possesses the big hitting abilities that Pant has.

Rizwan is better than both Pant and Dhoni.

Pant is young so we do not have enough sample.

Dhoni has a very poor S/R of 126. He is a poor T20 player.

Rizwan opens and has a career SR of 130 (boosted by playing Zimbabwe and SA B teams). He was absolutely brilliant yesterday but is never going to be a 135-140 SR batsman

Rizwan works in pakistan team but sooner or later they ll need high s/r batsman after them...abhi these are pitches that are in their zone
