Unless this q is limited to LOIs, we would have to revisit this question when Rizwan plays a couple of series deciding games in test matches.

Pant, ill take him any day. I like Rizwan but pant is an out n out match winner.

Pant hasnt found his way in LOI but its on management to see it through

Rizwan is like Watling. Pant is like Gilchrist

Pant all the way. Three knocks in the last 6 months at Sydney, Gabba and Ahmedabad makes him better than any other keeper batsman bar Gillchrist in the last 20 years. Rizwan will come nowhere close.

And now that he's settled in this team, his LOI record will improve massively and he'll soon be the best middle order batsman in LOIs as well.

Not seen enough of Rizwan. Can't comment much. But he is doing a decent role as opener in the LOI.  Pant is very talented.  He just needs to fine tune his game in LOI. He will leave every one to dust.

Paplu thread and such threads with obvious answers are found only on peepee. The delusional Pakistani fans have an habit of taking every mediocre player and compare it the Indian counterpart and hype them over the roof. Having said that Rizwan is a decent chap and not mediocre as a player, he's probably the best keeper batsman pakistan has produced after retirement of Moin Khan, but he has no comparison to Pant. Pant is a once in a generation talent.

Rizwan is good but no need to compare him with a Talent like Pant.  Pant will win more matches for India than Rizwan ever will.

Plus Pant is far younger & more dynamic.

That being said Rizwan has had a good run in test cricket & scored 90 odd in Gabba & few good knocks in England New Zealand as well.  He isn't bad by any means.  He is unlucky that he plays for Pakistan.

There's a thread on PP where that Viru guy was bashing Pant left right and center, only one Indian poster there called him out at that time and finally when Pant's breakthrough series happened the Poster who started that thread didn't even came online after that lol.

No need to do a peepee here

These funny comparisons suits those people, they find comfort doing abysmal comparisons

Note-i like Rizwan a true hard working,a very unPakistani batsman,he is one of a kind, tremendous player, respect

Pant is the Gggreaaattttt One

Rizwan is a grafter. Good player. Pant is a match winner. An X factor and impact player.

Rizwan seems to be ahead in the keeping department though, have seen some outstanding keeping from him. Pant is competent/safe  keeper kind of like Dhoni but with more athleticism behind the stumps.

Pant has potential to be in league of SRT, Dravid, Laxman and Kohli in tests.

Currently he is better than Babar Azam - best test batsman Pakistan has.

Rizwan is not best batsman in Pakistan.

Pant and Laxman are in the same rarified zone as clutch match-winners.  Then daylight, then everyone else.

Pant was brilliant v Eng

batting, let Rizwan finish off a 300 chase in SENA

His score primarily has been against C grade south africans D Grade english and Zimbabwe/ bd/ lanka teams. Pant in recent odi s against England scored against the best english loi attacks

Amazing how generational talent has a lower average in All formats combined of the game compared to Rizwan.

Whats hilarious is the need of isolating just to batting for Pant because as a wicketkeeper in both arts he cant compete

Rizwan is 29 (in Pakistani years) whereas Pant is still 24. For all his brilliance, Rizwan is closer to his peak and will begin to wither out sooner or later. Whereas Pant has more than enough time to become a better keeper and end up as an ATG keeper bat.
