we should seriously get away with this 1980s thinking of seeing cricketers..

SKY, even if he is 30.. with modern fitness standards and conditioning he can easily play till 37,38.. and I dont agree with the sympathy of slowing reflexes stuff we hear from commentators.. u dont see that happening with Gayle, Rayudu, Faf etc.. 

Pick these 30+ guys with a world cup in mind and give them the opportunities and then move on for the next worldcup.

Who exactly has a problem with SKY's age? He's among the fittest Indian cricketers and can have a very good LOI career for a 4-5 year period. Will help us especially  the post 2023 WC scenario. when Rohit, Dhawan, perhaps even Kohli are all going to move out together.

For sport 30+ is always considered old ... probably more like 35+ currently given the general increase in fitness.

Sky is a must in playing XI for next 3 World Cup ( 2T20 and 1 ODI).

I will put him even ahead of Virat and Rohit.

don't need to make long term plans. for now, he's a shoe in for UAE wc. If it works out and he is in good form he should play Aus wc, and so on

Was very impressed with the way he handled bowlers esp Hasaranga & Sandakan who are better spinners .

Looks the best player of spin currently in Indian team as he cannot be tied down. 

 For me he looks better than Iyer  as of now. May be this is peak of SKY.

He must be in the XI for all 3 WC going forward .

Indian TM will be stupid if they do not give him a position where he plays maximum balls from spinners .

No#3 would be a good position for in T20 to maintain tempo.

Not anymore.. You see guys like Djokovic and Nadal dominating a traditionally young man's game in tennis well into their 30s. Messi and Ronaldo still are immense.... 30 is honestly the new 25

27-33 are said to be peak of a player.

He can win India 2-3 world titles upto 2023...  No issue with age here.  We are not running after personal records.  His impact is what we need.

Lol you guys are late. He has been a beats for ages. He should be in test squad even. He is a compact player who is comfortable with pace, bounce and spin. But our management is full of backward deranged dimwitted turds who cant think outside the box.

I actually see SKY play a few tests for us very soon. Is a proper middle order bat and has got dozens of rescue acts to his name for Mumbai in FC cricket. He shouldn't be branded a LOI specialist. Have him on a couple of A tour Tests and then pick him for tests.

He would do well in South Africa I think.  In India he will anyway do well but monsters like Mayank sit out on Home tests..  Rahane Kohli Pujara three useless mofos occupy vital positions.

why whats the worry. Cricketers these day hve fitness to go easy till 35...even if he gives 3 yrs of plays till next Wc its enough

I am with you.  Not saying it is a justified worry - just trying to see the other perspective, which is: 

 

when you say a player's peak is 27-30, then he is debuting at the tail-end of his peak.  So the expectation is that he will only go down from here.  The typical trajectory is that a player debuts a few years before their peak, plays 3-4 years at peak and holds on for 2-3 years after that.  

 

But, the guy deserves every chance he is getting.  He has more than earned it and is proving it on the field.  Would love to see him play a big part in WT20 and beyond!

Nothing is guaranteed these days .. he should be fine for the next 2 years .
