possible but then again never easy to drop a senior like ishant. 

Its indian cricket seniors are hard to drop for captains

He's actually been better than Pujara in SA and WI

we did have batsmen in the past who scored in overseas.. its only coz now we have pacers capable of picking 20 wickets that those runs count so much more than previously

We can wish for many things, but won’t happen after this win. Very rarely a winning combination is broken unless injury in Team India.

 

Ideally Id have liked Ashwin to play in place of Jaddu…

Drop pujara play  Mayank  , depending on the conditions drop a pace bowler and bring in Ashwin .... that's all required...

Pick one of Ishant or Shami for next test and take Ashwin. Pick Shaw/Mayank in place of Pujara. If Rahane fails next test, he goes too.,

 

 

 

4 seamers are must. Ashwin is no Murli. Only pacers are going to win you games here. Spinners are only a defensive option.

seems that's a correct decision now. Pujara looked so bad in form that he took 35 balls to open his account , score the first run. India should not play such a batsman at all.

 

Lets see if he does that or not.

they  too  played  their parts a bit, that's all... Compared to what some other junior   players  played,  their contributions  are so inferior. Their incompetency is underlined by the  fact that  India was still in danger of losing the test  once both were  out. Thanks to Shami/Bumrah batting,  brilliant  bowling & absymal England batting that India won this match...

Unless someone is niggled out, same team.

I wish Siraj or BUmrah get a rest, but the next test starts after 9 nine days, so should be good rest. Maybe rest the bowlers a bit for test4 with Shardul, Ashwin, Axar and Umesh raring to go. SKY is not yet test material to replace a great like Pujara. At least give Vihari or Mayank a chance before SKY. SKY is just a Corona backup for now.

Pujara has bought himself one more test time atleast, now upto him but if one win can save ur place all it takes is ome loss to make all sought of changes. 

In 2innings i did notice his bat wasnt coming a lil more straight then earlier when it was coming down at an angle. But at end he ll have to score runs now as rohit n rahul will not score in every inning.

Traditionally India dont change a winning combination, but that would be foolish.

 

Given that Jaddu has failed to take wickets v England, I would give Ashwin a go. I would replace Ishant with Thakur. So the batting order is strengthened.

 

Mayank for Pujara needs to be made.

 

The most important aspect is that I dont think the changes weaken the team at all even remotely, however there is the upside that it should strengthen the team.
