Kohli's part in developing youngsters

I think this deserves a Thread discussion on it's own.

Just think about it, he started Test Captaincy in 2015, it's been 7 years now. The Test XI he has, not One new player has been developed by him - 10 were developed by Dhoni and the 1 player Siraj was played by Rahane in Aus, else he would still be waiting for his chance.

I mean, is Indian domestics so bad that not one player can be developed by Lolli?!

He prefers seniors.

Seniors are more appealing to him because he has zero patience for youngsters. He lacks man management skills and eye for talent.

For developing Siraj, I'd give him a pass, but other than that, it's a big fat 0

How did he develop siaj? He isnt even giving him a bowl here and prefers ishant over him. Sirajs best performance was under rahane in Australia

Siraj was made to play T20s under Kohli and he was debuted only under Rahane. May give credit to Team management but sorry nothing for Kohli!

I watched a lot improved performance of Siraj in this year's IPL under Kohli..... was almost unplayable, as Siraj himself has acknowledged Kohli for making his career.

Under Kohli, he appears to be more confident, as evidenced by his performance in the previous match.

That was post Australia series, after which Siraj's confidence was super high. He has to credit Kohli publicly or else it will be career suicide.

That is a conjecture.

I think players are more observant of who they should credit for their success.

he has not promoted any youngsters as such but is being credited for developing fast bowling culture and also home dominance.

It has all been about consolidating power (and money) by all means. Everything else was secondary.

Ideal time to sack him and Shastri was after the 2019 WC. No other captain-coach would have survived the shambolic decisions. Each day's delay in sacking him sets our cricket further back.

That's all there is to be said. Probably the most evil person associated with Indian cricket since fixer Azhar.
