Majestic Posted September 11, 2021 Posted September 11, 2021 (edited) I think the best XI we can afford considering all the factors like resting / giving a breather to our fast bowlers and also to our batsman for the overseas tour of SA, my XI will be :- 1. Shaw 2. KL(c) 3. Pujara 4. Gill 5. Vihari/Mayank 6. Sundar 7. Pant 8. Ashwin 9. Axar 10. Umesh 11. Siraj Kohli, Rohit, Bumrah and Shami should be rested. He must bat in the top4 for at least two series and if he fails, then fair enough.. Would prefer Gill at 4 and Kohli dropping down to 5 but that's as likely to happen as snowfall in Chennai. Lord 1

In addition, out of form batsmen will like to play in familiar conditions to get some sort of form . Otherwise, it would be a bit unfair if your only playing overseas in difficult bowling conditions. It also depends on the pitches, they might be rank turners.

Also needed new Backup wicketkeeper may k bharat but not saha is very old. new fast bowler in place of Ishant sharma and give young spinner may be rahul chahar/any other off spinner a chance in india test team.

Also, NZ have been our nemesis since 2016. We must make a statement while we have the home advantage. Anything less than 3-0 will be a defeat for us. Must play at near full strength.
