T20 me experience is overrated

It's the other way around. We have one too many over-experienced batting superstars. Out of two of them, only one should ideally play l, the better captain out of them and everyone knows who he is .

 

A batting line up of Rohit, Kishan, KL, SKY, Pant, Hardik, Jadeja IMO will have a better chance of success than Rohit, KL, Kohli, SKY, Pant, Hardik, Jadeja (ideally Shardul). The latter will ensure the top 3 have great personal stats, the former will give us explosive starts and the cushion of those extra 10-15 runs.

Reasonable move to arrange for short term coaches for the T20 WC - buys the PCB time to look for a proper coach for the long term.  

 

This is a case of 2 parties mutually meeting each others needs - PCB was desperately looking for some banner 'names' to lend their T20 WC campaign some weight, and these 2 hardly have any coaching experience, putting an international T20 WC on their resume will help them a lot in applying for coaching gigs in T20 leagues.  

 

Fact is stranger than fiction though - a team infamous for its obsession with Islam, goes out and hires a fervent born-again christian dude.

They have two batsmen Babar & Rizwan & budda Hafeez who is past it.  I expect Rizwan to score a fighting 40 odd vs us.  Cute 10-15 runs by Babar.

Rest will just implode.   Imad Wasim would strike a few to take them to a 140-150 score 

 

Our Top 3 are reliable against SC sides..  Surya at 4 is a much much bigger upgrade than Yuvi in 2014 & 2016.  Pant at 5 may or may not come off in T20 but still huge upgrade over Dhoni.  Pandya at 6 is Same..  Game against spin has regressed but very good against Pacers especially medium pacers. 

 

I want to see Kishan in between as well if Pandu can bowl his full quota..  But unlikely.

I thought precisely that.

 

Also, a team that has always done rona dhona about its  fitness standards (a la Umar -I - gain -weight -drinking -water -Akmal),  hires as bowling  coach a guy who looked like he never let a meal or six get past him. 
 

The comedy script writes itself.

 

With any luck one will be arrested for proselytisation, frothing at the mouth like a madman (singing Onward Christian Soldiers) and the other will shortly escape,  only to be found weeks later looking like a beanbag, stupefied with food and unable to move at Javed Miandad’s Nihari Palace in K’rachi.

Hayden was playing IPL one season and then I saw him as an analyst in dugout the next year.

 

Philander just retired recently so not sure how much coaching he has done.

 

I think this might be a well thought out masterstroke or one of those decisions to appease the public, give these players a good pay day for not doing much and saving the local coaches from backlash and abuse. Win-win for all regardless how this turns out.

Of course we can. Poyzz have a a mediocre bowling attack. Even shaheen afridi is bang average in this format. They have a slightly better batting lineup than they did in 2016 but they aren't really destructive enough to take the game away batting first or chase down 180+..

I am getting sick of Pant off late. He is too immature. I know he is an elite level talent and all but he is getting really haughty. He feels untouchable. 

 

Some of the shots he got out to in England drives me mad. Lucky for him he won us several tests away from home and at home prior to his poor England series.
