Players that Indian selector still need to keep an eye on in IPL before they lock the squad

So the final squad still can be changed and selecrors shud keep an open mind rather being egoistic about it. This was a very good selection but cud be still be better

 

1. One pacer less
2. 2 left arm spinner that to very similar in batting n bowling is overkill

 

Players team still need to keep an eye on

 

1. Shami (form)- never liked him as t20 bowler
2. Bhuvi - fitness, if he is fit he is one of the best t20 bowlers if not then their is a problem 
3. Siraj- Big miss
4. Thakur- Big miss 
5. Deepak chahar- incase bhuvi fitness seems dodgy 
6. Nattu
7. Rahul tewatia
8. Krunal - need to see his form with bat n ball both specially how he bowls when wkt slow down and how he plays pacers 
9. Axar n Jadeja- both their form with bat n ball

 

 

• Thakur , Tewatia, can be looked at for one of Left arm spinner or Krunal with one of them replacing both
• Siraj shud be looked in place of shami
• Deepak Chahar if bhuvi is unfit
• Nattu if bhuvi is unfit and Shami is also getting replaced by Siraj

Yorker Prince Natarajan won us the T20I series in Australia last year. A fit, in-form Nattu adds so much to our squad, also that left arm angle, pair him up with Bumrah in overs 10-20 and we will defend most targets. Hope he lights up IPL second half.

He is raw and never going to be in the pecking order.  Shami is preferred for some reason. He is a double edged sword. Either he is going to be super effective or super expensive.  His ER is 9.80 in T20I.  In conducive conditiosn Chahar can be good. Thakur our lucky charm. Both can be expensive as well. Thakur especially in death overs.  After these 3  Nattu may be considered. If Bumrah is injured for some reason they must back this guy as he is the only one who can land yorkers.

Natrajan underwent knee surgery, the reason he isn't picked.

Knee surgeries are brutal, one of the worst areas to get injured for an athlete. Career-ending in many cases.

Yes. It won't be easy to come back. Bumrah had gone through a knee surgery in 2014 I think before his India debut but he has done well since then. It also depends on the age. Natrajan is 30. Won't be easy for him. Bumrah was young. Same way Mavi had ACL surgery at 17.  At young age, it's easier to come back.

then what can one do when they are older? i hear gymastics type training along with ligament strength enhancing plyometrics help ?

 

say bumrah had an acl tear when he is 33. how would he come back the same? is it possible? rest is key and he needs to properly rehabilitate via physio exercises.

India have a gaping hole in the lower order for a high quality big-hitting spin-bowling allrounder.  Jadeja aint it.  Never has been.  Axar isn't either.

would love to track how Dhawan performs. There could still be a glimmer of hope..

Nitish Rana is a good call. Excellent floater. We hardly have many. He can open, come one down, play down the order. He can be useful with ball also a decent fielder.

Make these changes -

1. Include T Natarajan in place of Shami in the 15 .

2.Include Shardul in place of Axar in the 15.

3. Include  D.Chahar, Siraj & Iyer in 18. You can at any time niggle out Bhuvi by Chahar and use spare batsman iyer & spare pacer Siraj for any injury in 15. 

 

You will have

1. Bumrah/Nattu as main bowlers at death also option of Bhuvi & Varun C along with Boom & Nattu to mix match from 15 to 20. 

2. Bhuvi to bowl minimum 2 overs in PP. An over from VC , Boom, Shardul minimum.

3. Go with Hardik, Jadeja & Shardul at 6 to 8 and bowl 8 to 9 overs among the 3 bowlers. 

 

Would like this team playing against PAK in the opener.

I was thinking about tewtia as well ,thakur ,tewtia,harshal,chahar all four can hit and hit big,there was a case for shaw too,regarding nattu his inury has ruined it for him otherwise he would hsve been picked,besides final team is supposed to be sent before oct 10,do i expect few changes
