A senior anchor called Muhammed Malik from Hum News a Pak based channel reports that Pak Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi is slated to meet US based Pak multi "billionaire" sports team owner some Shahid "sahab"  in NY to invest in PSL and "break the back" of IPL.

His rant was around PCB contemplating offering way more money to foreign players to play PSL to break the back of IPL which was " all about money".

I wonder who this billionaire is , and if he exists, why would he even dream of trying to out-doing India ( which has 50 times more hard cash ) financially  and is a 15 times bigger economy than Pak.

as if there aren't indian origin billionaires which must be 20x the number of pakistani origin billionaires.

indians in every country are mroe numeorus and richer than pakistanis.

truth be told, it is this delusion that makes it fun. that they can "compete" with something so huge. i have mentioned before. imagine indonesia taking on china or mexico taking on the us.

considering the trajectories, this gap will widen further and further and more "arshad nadeem" style moments will keep coming up. nothing is more symbolic of pakistani impotency against a rising india than paksitanis watching in droves the olympics for the first time in their lives only to watch india win a gold. what happens 20-30 years in the future when india will reach such a level when it's pop culture and soft power permeate the world - movies, cartoons, video games etc. Who do you think the bad guys are gonna be in them?

although i believe the bravado will die down a bit as the oldies die out. remember, most pakistanis are very young (median age early 20s) and they have never known a world where they were not beneath india in every which way. maybe a peace settlement when these kids are in positions of power.

but till then we can enjoy 20-30 years of pakistanis watching us rise and rise while they remain behind in every field.

By spending way beyond their means in order to match the IPL the only back they would be breaking is their own.

They already spend too much on 'defense', trying desperately not to be out-matched by India.

and that has resulted in them being not behind just india but also bangladesh in all socioeconomic factors.

we should encourage such an "arms race".

Why don't they reach out to Tony Khan?  He is already successfully running AEW.  Although supporting or financing a Pak based franchise might not be good for business in US.

Shahid Sahab may be Shahid Khan. The pakistan origin US billionaire, owner of NFL team Jacksonville Jaguars and EPL team Fulham FC.

He is a billionaire estimated by forbes to be worth $8bn.

He is the richest guy of Pakistani origin in the world and only pakistani origin person listed on the forbes list.

He has steadfastly stayed away from investing in pakistani sports etc.

But if he wants to take on the IPL, i am all for a fight between the richest Pakistani and richest Indian.

Modi & Shah might stop AEW's coverage in India lmao..  I highly doubt they will fall for this.  Might offer sponsorship to a PSL franchise but that's it

If you argue with a fool for long, you will get to that level and the fool will beat you with experience.

I don't understand why Indians give Pakistanis attention. You're all equally responsible for this crap coming your way by giving them bhaav.

IPL is an entire ecosystem. Billionaire owners, including the richest Asian. Backed by many billion dollar sponsors and televised by the biggest media company in the world.

And this is when someone like Ambani isnt even flexing his muscle.

I think he is talking about posts like this one here . Better to ignore most of these, even if you are just trying to laugh at them

As it should be as India has the largest market for Cricket.

Pakistan has a good market as well but they have a struggling economy & the owners of their franchises are mostly sadakchhap ameer.

Rich overseas Pakistanis might pump some money but won't make much of a difference.

Billionaires are generally not stupid. PCB will be treated as any other beggar with a scam propasal is treated by successful businessmen

I am sure these Billionaires get such requests to invest money every single day by some beggar or another

their grand plan is to appeal to their patriotic emotions to throw their money away :hysterical:
