Wont matter, Kohli will have the captaincy dropped soon in Tests and ODIs.

He has been in permanent decline for some time now. Sure the odd innings here and there, but if you remove the captaincy from him, his place for batting alone is gone.

And that idiot was hailed as better than SRT? This fecker has played test only for ten years now. SRT played tests from 1989-2011 with an average of almost 57. Too bad he let it slip after that.

Rahul Dravid has formally applied for the position of the Indian team's head coach on Tuesday, having been touted as the heavy favourite to get the role.

In addition to Dravid, former pacer Paras Mhambrey, and former wicketkeeper Ajay Ratra have applied for the positions of India's bowling and fielding coaches respectively, with incumbents Bharat Arun and R Sridhar also set to leave after the T20 World Cup 2021. Earlier, Abhay Sharma, who has worked with Dravid at the NCA and with India A and India Women, also applied for the fielding coach's role.

Who is this Abhay Sharma and what are Ratra's coaching credentials?

Who is this Abhay Sharma and what are Ratra's coaching credentials?

Sharma was the Railways cricket team coach for seven years starting from 2007. Having completed coaching courses in batting, fielding and wicket-keeping in England, he was assigned to coach in the National Cricket Academy as well as India B in the Challenger Trophy. In 2013, he became the fielding and wicket-keeping coach of India A. He was appointed as the head coach of Himachal Pradesh in 2014 ahead of the 2014–15 Ranji Trophy. He became the fielding coach of India Under-19s in 2015.

He had picked a 19-year-old Karn Sharma in the Railways squad for 2007–08 Ranji Trophy. After Karn scored a century on his first-class debut that season, Abhay trained him on his leg spin bowling and has been his coach since then.

He was named fielding of coach of India national cricket team for Zimbabwe tour in June 2016. He worked under interim head coach Sanjay Bangar.

Iske peeche Dada hai.. Dada couldnt take kumbles insult.. he kept quiet. But he never forgives and forgets.. slowly he started cutting kohlis wings.. just to think of it leading England 2-1 at home, nearly winning first test not a bad achievement.. other captains would have been in state of gloating.. but kohli had to resign from t20 captaincy… dada in his book and all interviews have said how indebted he was to dravid for making so many crucial runs ( adelaide 2003 which led to indias first win in aus after 18 yrs), keeping wickets ( dream run to final 2003) .. they grew up together.. and they became a part of big 4.. dada even made laxman the mentor of CAB.. even rathour was his appointee.. sachin viru laxman zaheer zak kaif all are very close.. news is around that kaif would have been the asst coach if ricky accepted offer of coaching india.. and dada has very good relationships with ponting ( bid crazy for him in 2008 ipl and got him), graeme smith ( smith himself acknowledged) and also all pakistan players ( shoaib, rameez, just see any pak youtube videos they have genuine respect for him) .. aise koi banta nahi bcci President.. you need connections and relationships..from being harrassed as being a quota player, to scoring century in lords.. bhoole to nahi mujhko.. from being dropped by team india , shunted out from captaincy to being the bcci president  and probably next icc chairman.. dada raj has just begun..

He was with the u19 side in 2016-18 under dravid

Interesting. Coaching in package deals.

Ideally would like someone like Jonty or even Kaif as fielding coach

They also need a catching coach not just fielding coach, specially for slip catching .

that comes under fielding coach's job description. It was horrible under Sridhar.

Hopefully this guy fixes it but I doubt he has ideas beyond normal fielding drills

A head coach should have the ability to pick the assistants he works with. They are the people he trusts to implement his ideas.

That's for strategies and all. What's the need for fielding coach to be head coach's buddy?

Where else do you see it?

+1... Kohli deserves every bit of criticism he gets ... Captaincy has a limited shelf life as Dada's captaincy itself has shown,  so Dada very well understands that its time for a change.

We dont have many domestic coaches below 50 yrs who can keep a check on Kohli and RD is probably the best to plan for the transition which is going to happen with the retirements of Rahane, Pujara , Shami, Ashwin and probably Kohli & Rohit

Paras Mhambrey, a classic mid 90s Indian trundler. Do not let him get the job!

He was the bowling coach under whom Siraj, Nagarkoti, Mavi were nurtured...
