I don't think the issue here is whether this is genuine or not, at least for me.

The level of stupidity shown in this is whats appalling.   Had this guy gone out on 0 or a poor score - Whole Pakistan would be asking for his head just like Hassan Ali.

ICU/Injuries or anything doesnt matter - Either you're fit or you're not.

If you are fit then all the backstory shouldn't matter and if there's any doubt over fitness then this isn't a movie where you walk off a hospital to play - Respect your country and your team mates and let someone else do the job.

On 7 night, they played Scotland. On 10, SF. When was he admitted and then released and then check if he was fit to play. When did it all happen?

And not to fo=forget, he was wicket keeping too all this while. These guys can never be trusted with their propaganda.

Question is, so what? If you are deemed fit enough to play a match, then you are 100% fit. It doesn't matter if you were in a hospital bed or hotel bed for 2 days prior.  Regular people recover slowly at home, professional athletes, who have no limitations such as cost of hospitalization, insurance ka khit khit etc., go to hospitals to fast track their recovery and get ready for the next game. The ICU is the place with all the apparatus/paraphernalia to assist in recovery. Maybe they pumped him with oxygen, fluids, and whatnot to get his body to bounce back to as normal as possible. It's not like he is an aam aadmi who got critically ill and HAD to check in to the ICU under life threatening circumstances!

Pakistan team players are learning from PR heavy weight champion from across the border. They have chosen the right role model. This nautanki baazi reaaly works with that belt.

This is such a BS story that it almost works with delusional emotional Pakistanis.

The pictures, as you would expect, are more dramatic than chest congestion. They should have gone all the way with the story. He had a heart stroke plus multiple organ failure and doctors said "Issey dawa nahin dua ki zaroorat hai". But our moto in Pakistani cricket team is "Himmat e marda toh jannat e Khuda" ( If you dont believe in this then "Sar tan se juda" ). The team prayed non stop including Matthew Hayden subscribed Duolingo to learn Arabic overnight.

in ICU for what ?  how he  got discharged almost within 36 hrs from ICU.

Looks  more like a great preparation for the assumed SF Victory they would  have achieved and then this ICU story would have been making rounds in loop for days , months & years to come .

If it was that bad, why couldn’t they replace him. He did score but he also slowed down the momentum. Nothing heroic about a half fit player playing ahead of a fitter player just on reputation. If a guy in the icu is better than the reserve what message does that give?

Exactly! Dearth of players?

There is bravery and then there is stupidity. This is stupid.

In sports there is a saying: if you are not full speed on Wednesday, you are not playing on sunday.

Wtf I respect Rizwan but now this is starting to sound more and more like a BS publicity stunt  I mean… “we are like our armed forces” matlab kuch bhi :hysterical::hysterical:

This works well in Bollywood movies but not in real life.

We all know how James Taylor's career ended abruptly, you have to take your health seriously.

This is way OTT propaganda, all that's missing is the violin music in the background.

Ask any Doctor - if someone is actual need of ICU care, there's no way they are even capable of jogging the next day.  More likely that they just kept him in ICU for increased monitoring.

Not to take anything away from Rizwan or his effort, but these greenbros do go all in on the propaganda.  Just another item in the daily dose of "phifth genraashun vaarfair" that's unleashed on the 'awaam'.

was thinking same, all thats left is marrying a movie star and transformation to cheaper version of Virat will be complete

Ok, answer this question - was Rizwan fit or the match or not?

maybe, maybe not. only his doctors can tell. maybe he is stupid. but that wasnt stunt as some posters are saying. imo he needs more exposure to understand about the whole issue. cant take everything with emotions.
