Rahane was dismissed for a duck for Mumbai against Goa while Saurashtra's Pujara was dismissed for 8 against Odisha.

Rahane's stay at the crease lasted only three balls as the Mumbai lad was dismissed by medium-pacer Lakshay Garg for a duck. When Rahane walked in to bat Mumbai were already struggling at 30 for 2 and his dismissal reduced his side to 30 for 3 in the Elite Group D match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

For Pujara too it was not a good day at the office as the Saurashtra lad could only last for six balls for his domestic side after being dismissed by Odisha medium-pacer Debabrata Pradhan for 8 in Elite Group D match at the Sardar Patel Stadium B in Ahmedabad.

They are done. The only question is whether Kohli will join them soon on the domestic circuit or just retire directly.
Why do you hate kohli so much...

He is not a monarch like Dhoni.... He made this Indian test team world class...

Not sure...why so much hate...

Yes...his captaincy was bad in t20s and odis....but excellent cpatsincy in test matvh3s

The scope of this discussion is current batting form, which Kohli is badly short of.

Just illustrates how finished they both are. Can't buy a run even in the local leagues.

Embarrassing that it took 3 years and a series loss in SA for them to be finally dropped.

Kohli should be next if form does not improve rapidly.

Yeah it's utterly crazy and embarrassing as a country we sent them to represent us as our middle order in all important test matches.

They have already been dropped from the test side. Let them be, they are only trying to find their back by fighting through instead of sulking about it.

They did score 100 and 91 in their last match. Then the comments were the standards of domestic cricket are poor.

they will be back soon in indian squad thanks to this TM's obsession with seniors.

Not the current one. If not, they would not have been dropped for an easy home series.

Pujara and Rahane have a huge task ahead of themselves to get back in to Indian team. They have to amass tons and tons of runs to force their way over other youngsters who can potentially fail in the upcoming matches.

Kohli's ego is too inflated for him to go back to domestics. However, I do think we should give Kohli at least one more away tour in Tests. I hope he is able to resolve his 6th stump fishing issues.

This Rahane dude was milking his initial overseas success to the hilt.

They are done, if Gill and Iyer start scoring runs.

Will be interesting to see the difference in innings scores as a result of dropping them both. Im confident of at least 50+ extra runs.

Any domestic journeyman even likes of Faiz Fazal & Karun Nair would have out scored these two in SA...  Such a travesty we gave in to these seniors & spoiled such a golden opportunity.

Blind Freddie could see that they were going to struggle in SAF, but the coaches and selectors on multi million dollar salaries didn’t? They can’t have rocks in their heads? Or do they? Dravid has been useless so far , didn’t have the gumption to drop the obvious dead wood.

Rahane has one of the worst home record for an Indian batsman. I bet Jaddu may end up with better numbers at home with bat than Rahane

Not kidding. He already does. Jadeja averages 38 at home compared to 35 by Rahane. Rahane was so poor that its sad he played that many games.

Jadeja has the advantage or more not outs but Rahane has the advantage of better batting position at 5 v/s 7.

Yes. lol. See what i mean. Rahane's poor home record wwas even used to promote his selection for overseas tour. They would often show the stats of home/away record of various batsmen and say  Rahane is our best overseas specialist. Sure that ratio is a valuable tool if the home record is decent if not extraordinary.

I compared the home tests where both Jadeja and Rahane played. 28 tests.

Makes sense. These two are done with and are unwilling or incapable to improve. Wonder why they were stuck with until the failed SA tour. We should be proactive in team selection and avoid these disasters before it happens. SA was ripe for the picking. We should have won the series 3-0. Rather we choked it from 1-0 up with a pace battery never seen before in our squad and capable batters who were sitting in the bench while purane did their thing of failing until its dropping time where they hit a 50.

This is a wake up call to Kohli. Improve or face the axe. I know what you did with anushka in the team photo you dilweed. take your bollywood shite somewhere else and stop preaching morality like you are someone special you hypocrite. He should have lost the captaincy in 17 following the laughter in the post match with the padosis. However its better late than never I guess.
