R!TTER Posted February 27, 2022 Posted February 27, 2022 Unsurprisingly it's probably China https://www.newsweek.com/russia-ukraine-swift-expulsion-hungary-italy-sanctions-putin-1682968 https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-09-22/china-s-fledgling-cross-border-payments-system-grows-its-reach
bharathh Posted February 27, 2022 Posted February 27, 2022 Unfortunately agree it's China. This episode has shown how useless the Americans are at keeping their word and will push Russia close to China raki05 1
Real McCoy Posted February 27, 2022 Posted February 27, 2022 world dictators I mean those in power of the "democracies". This will result in higher oil prices and higher price of everything. For the past 2 years, its been blamed on a disease made up in a lab. Now its because putin wants to spoil the "democracy" of Ukraine. A perfect cover story for prices to rise. cowboysfan Posted February 28, 2022 Posted February 28, 2022 one thing is for sure ,the Russians are *ed.they have become a pariah state overnight.
Vancouver Posted February 28, 2022 Posted February 28, 2022 (edited) Biggest gainer - China They have so much leverage now. West has to surrender to them regarding Taiwan. Perfect timing for them amidst chip shortages, sanctions, bad PR, food n coal scarcity. That's in short term, if China looks at long term, it needs Russia more than any other country. Biggest loser - Non NATO world World needs a stable strong Russia, Imagine a world with no opposition to a superpower. If Russia gets destabilized, world order would crumble. ravishingravi Posted March 1, 2022 Posted March 1, 2022 China and India, China now knows how the west could respond for Taiwan invasion. India now know that it has more leverage than anticipated. Keep the Russia group and Western group interested but don't commit. Aag key liye paani ka darr. It would be beautiful if India works out something with china. It sets India up beautifully.

Yes, Sure except that nothing will change. Uncle Sam and his love for Gas ( Both fuel and other one ), will keep Russia in the game.

I think it goes the other way, US/NATO would not want to lose significance at the global stage by allowing two major invasions without military repercussions. They might just double down on Taiwan's defense now that Ukraine has been invaded. https://www.reuters.com/world/china/china-says-us-attempts-support-taiwan-will-be-futile-2022-03-01/ f20143g70 1
vvvslaxman Posted March 3, 2022 Posted March 3, 2022 World economy is collapsing now. Nobody is a winner here. Oil prices go high.
mishra Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 Whole world apart from EU and US. My reasoning is Economic war against Russian Central bank and its businesses is being closely watched. Infact every lever that is being pulled is being watched. In next couple of decades, world specially under Chinese leadership will find out alternative to it. I can see China coming friendlier to many developing countries here on. I wont be surprised if they give explicit concessions to India on Tech , Banking and Security sectors and may even go into collaborations. West and EU has a lot of convincing to do as somewhere in this war, all their Arsenal got exposed. For example , US owned Cloud Compiting is done. Most businesses will now moove away from Cloud or create a alternative. Google will be there but baidu will be adapated too. Dollar will be their in International trade and forex reserve but Chinese Yuan or BRICS Yuan may come as well World Bank and IMF will be there but ADB and AIIF will gain significance. UN will loose relevance because of above

Clarke Posted April 1, 2022 Posted April 1, 2022 I'd like to think US must be happy the way things are going on. Russian military suffering from thousands of soldiers dead as per estimates, their tanks/APCs/helis etc getting hammered by western tech, their economy in the doldrums, Europe finally waking up from its slumber from living within American security. All this without a single soldier lost and a billion or two in military and aid transfer to Ukraine. A solid bargain in their foreign policy language. The icing on the cake would be Putin being dislodged in the near future. Vilander 1
