Gavaskar, Bhogle, DK, Shastri, Manjarekar, Karthik and others don't have guts to oppose but hope they don't defend him now

Just a shame how Gavaskar has become in the media.

I think none of his peers - batting wise - Boycott, Border, Miandad, Zaheer Abbas, Viv Richards have done as much commentary as him and so completely followed the establishment party line at the same time.

For example Ian Chappell may say Steve Smith is not as good as a opener and does not think Travis Head is the answer as opener in test cricket too - I doubt Gavaskar would say something similar about the Indian team. Gavaskar will stick with the party line.

Another standard phrase that guys like Murali kartik use is "He is averaging 34. He is a better player than that". How is he better than his average 34? They sure won't have explanation. Sure that is applicable for maverick players (ala Sehwag), clutch players (ala Laxman). But not this guy. This guy is neither maverick nor clutch.  Just a pest.

There were these 2 guys Ankit Sharma and Fatt-de-chakkey ….. they are strong supporter of him and chusela harshal patel in that wt20 squad and we all know how that turned out.

That Sharma guy backed Dhongi from 2015-19 like anything. Enough said. No more of stinky lengthy non sense write-ups in broken english here after his ass got kicked after wt20 sf 2022...

Laxman and Sehwag averaged 45.97 and 49.34 in tests.

As you rightly said the average tells its tale for the two above as well as for the peerless KL.

Him and Kahane averagewise comparable. But Kahane has done something like BGT Trophy win as captain. This guy net output will be in the hight negatives. Whatever good he has done will be comfortably outweighed by his negatives

Beta flop hain toh earning for few more gens like Amitabh

He was still able to get him into the Indian team and a longish career in Ranji. Plus a commie gig which he wasn't suited for. Just like Bacchhan Jr. still got in so many movies.

:phehe:.    That Sharma guy is still very much here on ICF.   Just that he doesn't post anything.  His name is visible at the bottom among the list of logged in members (most of the time).
