Siraj

Pros :

Looks in great rythm.

Bowled right lengths in every phase of T20 and ODIs he played.

Most importantly bowled well in death

Bowling with good pace also.

Cons :

Less experience in T20Is

Shami

Pros :

Eggggggggggsperience, the most valuable thing in Indian Cricket at the moment.

Cons

no cricket in last 2 3 months

recovering from Covid

Dear fan,

We studied this intently, reflected thoughtfully, and considered every pro and con.  You make a very strong, compelling argument for Siraj.  We select Shami.

Sincerely,

C. Sharma

A strong case can be made for Shami too if in form, which of course the TM is expected to evaluate when the players reach Aus.

If Shami impresses, it is likely to be him (picked in the reserves when the squad was 1st announced). If not, Siraj, who has played recently.

Like what many have said, why not both (but it is a futile thought and the one not picked is probably better off than having to bowl with Bhuvi, Harshal, etc.)

It can be both

Niggle out Harshal and bring in Siraj for Bumrah and Shami for Harshal.

Ashwin can bat at 8 in place of Harshal.

7. Axar

8. Ashwin

9. Shami / Bhuvi

10. Siraj

11. Arshdeep

If Shami does not look match fit, play Bhuvi.

Its not going to happen man....

Bowling will be what we have seen. Bhuvaneshwar will be "roaring" in for the first over.

BTW people have been talking about the Pak middle order. They may have problems.... but that does not mean they will have problems with our bowlers especially Axar/Ashwin types.

Would love to see Siraj open the bowling in Aus vs Rizwan.

Squad - Shami

Reserves - Harshal

Axar and Bhuvi at 7 & 8. Very shallow batting line up with 3 mugs with the bat to follow.

Ash should consider himself lucky.. so should Lord

Lord was not in the conversation.   Has K.Sen traveled or is he is also down with visa issue

Ravi and Iyer not traveling..

Deepak out injured again. Lol.

anyways good siraj is going, also Thakur going, he can’t be worse than Harshal.

But Thakur (and maybe even Siraj if Shami is picked as Bumrah replacement) is likely to be warming the bench as a reserve. Do you expect major changes to the squad before 15th?

I am more concerned about our bowling. Lower order batting to baad ki baat hai..

Both him and Umran are playing SMAT.
Bada wala kaata hai BCCI ne dono ka, neither gave them a chance for SA ODI's ..nor sent them to Australia.

India will not win a game if they need to rely on the bowlers to bat, similarly they wont win a game if we rely on our pace bowlers.

India's WC chances hinge basically on SKY, Pandya, Pant and our spinners.

Expect the clown faces by Kohli and KL when they get out cheaply this world cup. I have more faith in KL.
