Getting owned in the first round in Dubai vs Semis in Australia after topping the group.

 

Also we didn’t learn anything from last time but why are we upset, did we expect more?

It is like a student who had failed in the exam last year with only 20% marks.  This time also, he has failed.  But got 30%.  So, definitely an improved performance.   But kya mila.  Ghantaaa?   Babaji ka thuluu?

Almost predictable tournament. With better performance from openers, we may have been in the final.

Nope. We didn't. We just Defeated Pakistan with help of luck otherwise it was just the same pattern. We just were lucky to placed in the same group as SA(choker) and Weak minnows(Netherlands, Bangladesh,Zimbawe)compared to other group.

 

I think this is our worst tourney along with 2009 and 2010 wt20. 2012 was marginally better as we had beaten three strong team there (Eng,Pak,SA)..India's wt20 campaigns barring 2007,2014 ones are just dark blot in Indian cricketing history....

Honestly this was one of our worst assembled t20 side (Both batting and bowling ) ,last time we were this clueless/Hopeless was in the wt20 2010 .And tbh it doesn't even hurt anymore because the results are so obvious before the matches ,their is no X factor ,flair in our side .

Such a boring ,one dimensional team.

 

So reaching semi final was an "okayish" achievement ,that's how bad our standards are.

We had good backup options and a decent talent of pool with which we could work something upwards but the Selection committee just destroyed any chance ,and to top that our TM is a disaster .

We might have done well on papers, but most of us including me are disappointed because we did not learn from our mistakes. We haphazardly juggled with squad and put up a 15 for the WC, we persisted with Avesh Khan inspite of knowing that he does not have a place in the XI, we plucked shami out of think air just before boarding the flight to australia. 

 

We did not pick the right players for Australia, we persisted with Bhuvi, we did not take our chances with Umran Malik, we did not give even a half a game to Mohsin Khan to see how he does at highest level, we picked Harshal Patel instead, we did not try young batting talents which we have in abundance. 

 

Inspite of having resources, we failed to put up a decent performance when it mattered.

That sums it up perfectly. We are a weak, luck dependent, condition specific team who somehow crossed the line to reach the knockout, at which point there were hardly any hopes of going further.

this is a mediocre team and making it to SFs with trundlers, over-the-hill batters, and non-spinning spinners was quite an achievement.

So we got dumped by 10 wickets in the last two T20 world cups, I say that is an amazing achievement, what are the odds of that happening twice! All hail IPL stars!

If not the brainfade of Pakistani and Bangladeshs we would not even made in the semis. This team is terrible in all fronts. Bowlers dont know how to bowl and take wickets and batsmen are playing for boosting average. All this by farcical selections by dravid and co.

Yep.  This WC has definitely been better.  As Pak 152/0 scorecard got brushed under the carpet which now reads Eng 170/0.
