nitinbwj Posted September 28, 2023 Author Posted September 28, 2023 Right decision in the end. I will always take Ash over Fraudeja. sandeep, Frustrated and rollingstoned 3
Lord Posted September 28, 2023 Posted September 28, 2023 Hard luck. He's the best batsman among spin ARs so would have been best option nitinbwj 1
mani sha Posted September 28, 2023 Posted September 28, 2023 Good decision to have another attacking spinner who can bowl carrom ball to tail , flight ball and can also bowl legspin . His batting has improved . my ideal 11 for most matches rohit gill kohli kishan rahul Pandya jadeja / sky ashwin kuldeep siraj bumrah
singhvivek141 Posted September 28, 2023 Posted September 28, 2023 So this opens up a possibility where India can go with 6. Hardik 7. Jadeja 8. Ashwin 9. Shardul 10. Shami/Siraj 11. Bumrah This can happen on the grounds which will be high scoring, for the courtesy of extra depth. nitinbwj 1
Nikhil_cric Posted September 28, 2023 Posted September 28, 2023 Does Jadeja have compromising pics of Kohli, Rohit and Jay Shah or something? Even bats at night can probably see that even if you are hell bent on picking such a rubbish, hoax 6 bowler combination , Axar can genuinely be considered a lower order hitter and Ash , on recent l, evidence, offers the most threat with the ball ? rollingstoned 1

Our selectors don't understand the format difference, as Jadeja has done well in Tests, he is now a default selection across formats...no matter what. His success in ipl this year is another boost for his selection, nothing else matters for our selectors. Lord, rollingstoned, nitinbwj and 1 other 1 2 1

Frustrated Posted September 28, 2023 Posted September 28, 2023 As per the above article, it will take around 3 weeks for Axar's injury to heal. So, it's official that Ashwin has replaced Axar. nitinbwj and Lord 1 1

Ashwin is too big of a player to sit on bench, plus the echoes of WTC final will also be in minds of the selectors.
bowl_out Posted September 28, 2023 Posted September 28, 2023 On expected lines.. No surprise. This should have been the plan from the start
prudent_kreeda Posted September 28, 2023 Posted September 28, 2023 In the first place , selecting 2 very similar LH darters was a mistake . Yet feel for Akshar. Once injury happened , change was on expected lines.
cowboysfan Posted September 28, 2023 Posted September 28, 2023 Color me surprised, the moment i saw that he was not in the lineup for the 3rd ODI i knew he was in the WC Squad.this gives our bowling attack more variety and more importantly we can play Ashwin against the Aussies at Chennai. Infact Sundar should feel hard done by
