Resting Bumrah will be a bad move

According to reports Bumrah will be rested for 4th test but it will be a blunder in my opinion.

India should look at it like a 4 test series and try to go all out and win the series in the next test and rest Bumrah for the final test as it will be a dead rubber anyway.

The momentum is with India now after a demoralising victory, so India needs to take advantage of this position and completely shut out England. Way I see it, Bumrah is half of India's bowling attack and make no mistake, Poms fear him now as was evident in the way Root, Stokes, Crawley and others trying to see off his spell . You don't give them respite at this juncture and let England back into the series.

Dharamsala has always assisted seamers more, so England will have an edge there if they manage to pull off a win at Ranchi.

Bumrah has travelled to Ahmedabad from Rajkot so it is confirmed. Ranchi should be turning track with Sundar added as extra batter/AR.  His straight pies would do better against Brainless Bazballers than Mukesh Kumar..

No surprise really. Dravid Rohit have always made blunders like these. No wonder they have no ICC cup wins or overseas test series wins to show.

Bumrah bowled 23 overs in this test which also finished a day early- just 8 in Eng 2nd inn.

Eng innings on average last around 70 overs so he is not exactly being overbowled. Resting in a key test which if won will seal a major marquee series literally makes no sense.

We need Bhumrah fresh for pacer friendly 5th test in Dharamshala while make English pacers as exhausted as we can by that test match.  With 2-1 up, Think we can Rest Bhumrah in Ranchi

Indian pace attack as long as Bhumrah is in mix is anyday better than English pace attack. Period

It was needless to rest Bumrah here. There are only 2 marquee series this year.

Still can be managed.

Issue is that Rohit as a captain has a pretty poor understanding of the rhythm of test cricket.

He captained the WC ODI side like it was a Test side (in a structured and orderly manner) and captained the Test side like it was a T20 side (chaotic chopping and changing of bowlers that go against reason).

it would have been nice if boom could have played this test. if we could have walloped eng one more time, then he would not be needed in the 5th test because they would be demoralized.

instead, it looks as though mukesh coomer will play

How confident can one be about Gill, Sarfaraz, Jurel and other inexperienced batsmen against Anderson and Wood at Dharamsala and that too in a decider. It's not a position that's in our favor to be honest.

Bumrah has had injuries in past so it's understandable that longevity is not his cup of tea so it's better to rest him for a test every now and then and not force him to play more than 8 tests per year. If he can reach 70 tests mark at the end of his career, that's an achievement.
