There are reports saying,Pandya has pulled out of SL ODIs

Thus making it Gill vs Kela for odi captaincy

In my view both are pathetic

If kela is timid and statpadduct,then Gill is one step ahead and super selfish

The Selectors will such players that this superstars will walk in when they desires.

Gambhir should choose such  players that the seniors should find it difficult to return back in playing 11.

Makes sense. If he's playing then he should be the top pick for captain. If the strategy is to rest him then its a moot point.

i think they had enough rest after T20 WC. Bumrah needs to play.

This is an unwritten agreement with BCCI and Players that they will make themselves available for IPLs and will get time-off during the regular season.

 

The players are still getting receptions and welcomes from various directions so they would have hardly got time to rest

Better to have a captain who'll play majority of the games. I don't want to waste Bumrah playing these bi-laterals. Someone like Gill, Shreyas Iyer or maybe even a left field pick like Jaiswal or Rinku would be a better option as batsmen are more likely to play majority of the games. Same with Pandya. Though he would be my pick for captain in white-ball cricket but we can't risk losing him for important tourneys so better to manage his workload.

Bowling lineup of Harshit, Mohsin (if he's fit), Mayank (again if fit), Nattu, Arshdeep, Akash Deep, Mukesh would be pretty decent. Along with all-rounders such as Venkatesh Iyer and Nitish Reddy, that's a pretty decent group. I wouldn't club Mukesh with Avesh as Avesh has no redeeming quality while Mukesh can perform a role and looks like a bowler who can pick up wkts.

For SL tour, if Siraj doesn't get picked, he might consider taking retirement from intl cricket.  (By far he is the biggest SL basher in indian cricket history)

All thanks to Pandya's contributions but high time BCCI creates a plan to develop an all rounder who can be useful in SENA countries in Tests.

 

Because Pandya hogs this spot in white ball and is allergic to red ball, we can not ease in a decent all rounder for Test matches. 

 

It is difficult to give debuts to guys like Venky Iyer or Nitish Reddy at Perth or Cape Town directly, they all need to be played a sizeable amount of international cricket before that, with Pandya as mainstay AR it becomes difficult.
