Most Selfish Indian Cricketer

Who is India’s most selfish cricketer?

Qualification: min 50 tests or 100 LOIs (ODIs + T20s)

Indian cricket has a history of selfish cricketers. Some may argue that almost all cricketers are selfish, so in that case we are trying to figure out the relatively more selfish cricketer.

Irony of Indian cricket is that the more selfish you are, the more fan following you are likely to have.

Don’t throw in random names. Name the one who has appeared the most selfish to you among the cricketers that you have followed (and if possible, give examples of their selfish behaviour as well!).

Let’s see if we can drill into cricketers that selfishness does not go unnoticed.

Mohammad Fixeruddin .... name itself is enough.

Was the chief orchestrator of fixing saga with Mukesh Gupta. Sent our cricket in the dark ages. Even played as mediator with Hansie Cronje, on top of that played the religion card and blamed the entire nation who supported him when he was the captain.

His body can't take the workload.

Plays white ball cricket round the year. Surely can play selective Tests in SENA. Would have massive for our balance.

Hope Nitish Reddy provides that now.

He probably deserves  the blame for whatever he did......

However there may have been "match fixing" in Indian cricket before he even showed up in the team.

Now he is avoiding Odis, he never stretched himself by playing FC  cricket.

Giving the name which OP is looking for

The title “most selfish cricketer” is such that for many the image of their own favorite (Kapil, Sachin, etc.) would first flash in their minds. Then they would shrug it off to move on to some relatively fringe player.

He doesn't play white ball year round. Where was he in SL ODIs ?

He is not the most durable athlete. His frame is slight and wiry like Steyn - who was similarly built and not the most durable.

Hardik has already had back injuries as well.

If you want another 3 years out of him, he has to be used sparingly.

Hardik should only be used in T20s and ICC ODI events till we have a viable alternative of him.

Has already started bowling slowly in mid 130s to early 130's these days.

Reddy must be groomed for SENA Tests ODIs & he will automatically click in T20s.
