KL Rahul to be released by LSG as report shows they lost whenever he batted long

According to a report in the Times of India, LSG mentor Zaheer Khan and coach Justin Langer did an analysis of Rahul's role in the franchise's losses last season. After a thorough digging of numbers, it was found out that the chances of the team's loss increased with the number of balls Rahul played in the middle.

 

"The LSG management, including mentor Zaheer Khan and coach Justin Langer, has analysed his stats and it has emerged that the team has almost lost all matches where KL has batted long and scored runs. That indicates that his strike rate doesn't match the momentum of the game. With the Impact Player rule, the scores are getting higher. You can't afford to have someone taking so much time at the top of the order," IPL source told the paper.

 

Rahul scored 520 runs in 14 matches while batting at the top of the order for LSG at a strike rate of 136.13. His strike was the lowest among all batters who scored more than 400 runs in IPL 2024.

So they are saying they/tm didnt ask him to play anchor/ accumulator role -- is that what they are saying?

 

These are self-assigned anchor/ accumulator role ind superstarts take themselves on the cost of team losing. And all the hitting and scoring at high rates are left to intnl player till these anchor/ accumulator  get to some kind of milestone like 50 of 35+balls.

 

And Ind team was these self-assigned anchor/ accumulator posing as t20 batter. Apart from sky think all ind t20i player plays self-assigned anchor/ accumulator role.

 

In recent Acc-emerging asia cup tilak verma was doing the same thing wasting the starts provided by openers whats the point of then trying to maximize the pp when your #3/4 will stroll the innings in the middle, let openers play with caution they will get to their 50s and then they will also try to hit some 4/6
