Sean Bradley Posted February 13, 2025 Posted February 13, 2025 Gambhir, played the most important T20 innings ever played in the history of Indian T20 intls. Scored pivotal 75 runs in the final of WT20 2007, which not only shaped the future of Indian cricket through the introduction of IPL later. Also looked at the Pakistani players in the eye on the field, also went bonkers on them with full MCBC stuff. Launda was all Gabru against Pakistanis. Gollum Posted February 13, 2025 Posted February 13, 2025 (edited) You forgot Kumble in tests. Even in Pak, he was instrumental in the 2004 series triumph. Amarnath, Gavaskar from the past. Edited February 13, 2025 by Gollum Lone Wolf, mani sha and nevada 1 2

Adamant Posted February 13, 2025 Posted February 13, 2025 Kohli is easily the biggest Pakistan basher.

No, no one comes close to Sehwag, ask Pakistanis themselves, whom they would fear the most, they would say Sehwag. He toyed with them day in and day out he has a score of 309, 254, 201, 173 in tests against Pakistan, all at brisk strike rate, that too against a peak Shoaib, Umar Gul, Asif, Saqlain. He tormented them in tests. Kohli bashed them in ODIS, but sadly we will never know Kohli vs Pakistan in test matches. Rightarmfast, Ultimate_Game, bouncers and 2 others 1 4

He rocked even in IPL as a 38-39 year old, genuinely great in all formats, and our biggest test matchwinner in his playing days. Some Dilliwalas who have family or extended family who were uprooted from different parts of Pak, may still carry a certain amount of latent rage against Parchi boys. It flares up when push comes to shove.

Plus that assault against Umar Gul in 2011 WC SF all but put him out of the game. Before Sehwag's assault he was their best bowler in the tourney. Sean Bradley 1

Popular for his smile.

If not for him we would have lost at least half the ICC and Asia Cup games against them in the last 10-12 years. I am not kidding when I say that without Kohli, we would have failed to chase 80 odd in the 2016 Asia Cup T20I in BD, nightmare batting conditions and our second best bat that day was Yuvi who scored the flukiest 14 runs imaginable at SR of 40. I think Kohli must have some 5-6 MOTMs against Pak which is incredible as all of them came in big games. Yuvi, Dhoni were terrific in white ball bilaterals but not in ICC/ACC games. See, I too have been frustrated with Kohli the test cricketer since 2020, he is ruining his legacy each passing day. But what he has achieved in white ball shouldn't be understated. Peak Kohli especially in T20I was like peak Michael Jordan, the heights he reached in 2014/16 WT20 editions, I don't see anyone equalling that in the future. The aura he exuded, perhaps only Viv Richards in ODIs can equal, but Viv was part of a GOAT side, Kohli had donkeys around him, who opens with Rahane in back to back WCs, or how does MSD play 6-7 WT20s without a single notable performance? Agree, but overall impact on Pakistan Psyche and the term "Pakistan Basher", for me Sehwag would always be number one, because before Sehwag, all we had was Sachin or nothing apart from odd innings here and there from Jadeja & Azharduddin. Sehwag started this onslaught against Pakistan and turned the tables for India against them as before him Pakistanis always considered Indians as meek and pushovers. Dada was of course influential in bringing this change as a skipper but the primary weapon that he unleashed on Pakistanis was Sehwag, they were clueless and fearful of him. Then came yuvi, dhoni, and then came Kohli, Sharma, Pandya etc. But is aag ki chingaari Sehwag thi. Vilander and Gollum 2

Sehwag against Pak has given us plenty of beautiful memories, greatest entertainer ever. None of these bazball guys holds a candle to the OG. Sean Bradley 1
vvvslaxman Posted February 13, 2025 Author Posted February 13, 2025 In clutch moments pandya has hurt them. They genuinely fear him.
The Hound Posted February 13, 2025 Posted February 13, 2025 Kohli easily is no1 , he never played tests against them or he'll had 8/9+ hundreds in tests right now. Think many pak current former players as well consider him the best indian batsman.
Vilander Posted February 14, 2025 Posted February 14, 2025 Raina Dhoni But yeah Sehwag owns this thread.
