After the stock of *Gensol Engineering* crashed over 50%, it was revealed that the family office of MS Dhoni had invested substantial amount of money at ₹420 crores in the company — at what was reportedly the highest-ever Series B valuation for an EV firm in India.

This isn’t the first time. Earlier, Dhoni had also backed Amrapali Group, which later collapsed, leaving homebuyers and investors in the lurch.

No wonder Thala is appearing in more ads and continues to play in IPL to increase his brand valie. It all makes sense. He's using Chennai crowd as tools to play his business games. They are the real fools.

Why do these idiots invest hundreds of crores in random risky companies? I understand putting relatively smaller amounts in risky investments and expecting multifold returns but not 400 crore

Can't understand why would anyone invest this much of their capital in such a risky venture. If you've this much money, put it in blue chip stocks and you can simply live off it. What's the point of taking such a risk. If it pays off it anyways wouldn't make much of a difference to your life as you already had 500+ cr to begin with. But if the venture fails, you risk losing major chunk of your earnings. Not worth it as per the risk-reward model.

They invested in Bluesmart, not Gensol. Gensol deals in solar, not EV. Bluesmart is EV. Whoever wrote the article did a poor job.

Yes, 380cr is generational wealth, your many generations can enjoy it and it still won't get over.  Why risk it, how much more so you need?
