Austin 3:!6 Posted May 10, 2025 Posted May 10, 2025 BCCI has urged Virat Kohli to have a rethink as the crucial tour of England is coming up; If Kohli doesn’t change his mind, and with Rohit Sharma out of the picture, it will leave the Indian team with a largely inexperienced middle-order Virat Kohli tells BCCI he wants to retire from Test cricket | Cricket News - The Indian Express
bowl_out Posted May 10, 2025 Posted May 10, 2025 Maybe he doesn't want to play against his own country Chaos, nevada, Austin 3:!6 and 2 others 5
Austin 3:!6 Posted May 10, 2025 Author Posted May 10, 2025 First Rohit and then Kohli. Both declaring retirement in between an ongoing war. Looks like dnt want much publicity So both will continue to play ODIs but there are hardly any ODIs gets played now. SO better retire from all formats nevada 1

Suhaan Posted May 10, 2025 Posted May 10, 2025 Rohit retiring may have put pressure on an already considering Kohli
Adamant Posted May 10, 2025 Posted May 10, 2025 I think he should retire post this tour. We definitely need his guidance on this tour, there is absolutely no one in this team who can help Bumrah on the field. Yes he has been awful with the bat, but quite sure that his presence on field and his guidance will help India a lot more than replacing him with some youngster. Our team will be filled with youngsters apart from Bumrah and Kohli. Lord 1
Sooda Posted May 10, 2025 Posted May 10, 2025 I think this is the right step and overdue Yes we could struggle with inexperience but the way to get youngsters learning is through exposure nevada 1
Gollum Posted May 10, 2025 Posted May 10, 2025 (edited) If his mind isn't in it, BCCI shouldn't stop him. Last thing we need is half hearted Virat going through the motions, will be similar to the Aus tour where he will get out in the same manner for low scores throughout the series. Test cricket is the most unforgiving format, don't play if you are not in the right mental place. Edited May 10, 2025 by Gollum Texan 1
The Realist Posted May 10, 2025 Posted May 10, 2025 Old man Kohli would only be fishing on a Eng tour. Better to give a chance to a younger player than persist with somebody who doesn’t want to be there and has been flopping for half a decade in tests.

Vickydev Posted May 10, 2025 Posted May 10, 2025 He has no hope of surviving on those pitches. Good sense was prevailing until BCCI stepped in. BacktoCricaddict 1
Lord Posted May 10, 2025 Posted May 10, 2025 Maybe he wanted captaincy after Rohit's call and was refused
Prabhdeep Singh Posted May 10, 2025 Posted May 10, 2025 Shocking how BCCI did not try stop Rohit. Rohit last 8 tests were poor. Prior to that he has been India’s best test batsmen along with Pant since October 2019 when he started opening in tests. Virat has been poor since 2020. Rohit also won 2 ICC trophies as a captain. Some sort of leeway should have been given.

figo6762 Posted May 10, 2025 Posted May 10, 2025 Please let him go before he changes his mind or **** ..
Texan Posted May 10, 2025 Posted May 10, 2025 Master of theatrics! If he really wanted to retire, he would have announced it and not just "leaked" news to the press that he is intending to retire and have BCCI folks line up to convince him. If you want to retire, you just announce it and go. The game is bigger than the individual. Honestly, I would rather prefer a new batting order with domestic performers being given a preference than keeping Kohli around. They might also fail, but at least there is some hope for the future. There is no point in continuing to invest in Kohli who is way past it. mani sha, rollingstoned and Lord 1 1 1
