Since his match winning knocks in 2021 England tour he has shown some massive improvements in his test batting.

In Australia he was vital in us winning in Perth and saving Gabba.

Gave some clutch performances in CT this year.

Also since Goenka scolded him publicly I see a lot of neutral people on internet turned towards his side. They saw it as a bad capitalist boss exploiting and humiliating a poor worker. :phehe:

Then he had a very good IPL this season which made people who hated Goenka's antics, like him even more.

Also this series he was superb, made bowlers work hard for his wicket and did the main job of opener to blunt the new ball most of the time.

On the internet it seems that the tide has turned. Most people who were his critics are now writing in his praise.

I am curious how he performs without Kohli. He averages 53 whenever Kohli doesn't play with him. Even before this series he was averaging 55 whenever Kohli didn't play with him

did he though? He started strong, did that showoff after winning in Chinnaswamy and then went missing in second half of IPL and Delhi failed to qualify yet again. I doubt his ipl reputation changed that much

I think in WI home tests and SA home tests he needs to score big runs along with Jaiswal- he is now the most senior batsman in the time- high time he makes the last 3rd of his career count and make a bucket load of runs in preps for NZ away tests and then home BGT- if he can guide India to the WTC final in 2027 then he has done his job

This is similar to Siraj's stats with or without Bumraj. It goes up significantly

It is not just him. Gill, Pant all have much higher averages in matches that are not involving Kohli.

Alphas have a tendency to subdue others.. in a team game , 99% of the time it will backfire
