cowboysfan Posted November 22, 2025 Posted November 22, 2025 IPL has ruined everybody, almost all indian batsmen can't play spin now .

Suhaan Posted November 22, 2025 Posted November 22, 2025 Siddhu,Azhar era we had better spin batters express bowling 1
vvvslaxman Posted November 22, 2025 Posted November 22, 2025 We are not picking batsmen anymore if they can't bowl. SO we end up with guys like Reddy, Axar
Prabhdeep Singh Posted November 22, 2025 Posted November 22, 2025 The following 3 need to be looked at asap: Tilkak Verma Sarfaraz Khan Rinku Singh nevada 1
putrevus Posted November 22, 2025 Posted November 22, 2025 No idiot coach is hell bent on filling the side with pseudo allrounders.

zen Posted November 22, 2025 Posted November 22, 2025 I like that the 11 is not be played based on a formula or one that appears good on paper but looking at various factors including grittiness, multiple skills, maybe current form, potential, playing conditions, etc.

Check videos from that series, how Warne would get the ball to explode even on day 1., with puffs of dust coming. Kumble was unplayable for those great Aussie batsmen. But somehow, our batsmen used to do well but the opposition used to collapse against our spin bowling. I do remember rank turners during Azhar - Ajit Wadekar era where Kambli scored double century and the English fell like pins.
nevada Posted November 22, 2025 Posted November 22, 2025 Indian batsmen of yesteryear certainly had the skill and patience to deal with spin even on challenging tracks. Our present generation has lost this art and makes spinning tracks look much, much worse than they actually are. Look at this particular match to understand that the skill was very much real and not a myth. The present generation has made a habit of surrendering meekly on any pitch that is not a patta. On a treacherous track at Cuttack, Dilip Vengsarkar batted with phenomenal ease as he notched up his career-best score of 166. And Kapil Dev captured his 300th wicket as Sri Lanka surrendered meekly to lose by an innings. It was like a beautiful girl with a cancerous c**t”, was how Sir Lankan manager Abu Fuard remembered the pitch at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack. Dilip Vengsarkar batted as if it was a shirtfront wicket, diligently pressed and laid out for his exclusive use. He sort of specialised in unplayable conditions. The previous summer he had rattled up scores of 61 and 102 not out with the ball darting around at Headingley, where the next highest in the match had been 36.

They were good against warne and Murali too Back then it is More that they bowled different too flight and drift. In current drs era with finger spinners firing it in batsmen can't skip down and hit spinners

It's like Modi or Junior Shah banned this shot from the test squad, it's so beyond stupid now that anyone with one brain cell would be able to see it!
