At the very least we have a safe fielder on the field. Abhishek's confidence is shot. The ball he got out to today should've been hammered into the stands. He got out the same way against Pak (Agha) as well. He's not even able to hit half-trackers from spinners and that too on good pitch. Samson hammered those kind of deliveries into the stands. If someone's not contributing, kick them out and go with the one who's more likely to contribute. And at the moment that would be Rinku over Abhishek.

It's a 2 game tournament for us and Abhishek's confidence is shot. He can't even put away half-trackers anymore. Both against Pak and today against WI he got out to deliveries that should've been hammered by any decent batter for a 6, and he got out both the times. Plus his fielding and catching is worse than anything we've ever seen. He's a huge liability at the moment and has even started eating ball at the top of the order. A 10 ball 10 is what likes of Rizwan and Babar score at the top.

vvvslaxman Posted March 1 Posted March 1 They won't change. I was listening to the Ashwin's podcast. There are times they do back players who aboslutely suck to keep the team morale high. Dropping a player won't just impact player but also the team morale. These are some psychological things. They won't plug and play randomly during a world cup. Buttler has scored 15 runs in 5 innings. You think England will drop him? No. They will stil back him. Having said that Abhishek's catching has nothign to do with that. He has been dropping catches left/right/center.

Now..see how Sanju came back..you never know Abhsihek could change games in next 2 matches..these kind of players..can come to form any moment..the day they feel bowl is coming to their bat well.. only thing I hate about him is..what the hell he is doing in fielding too many drop catches..that is not acceptble..
