Akash Chopra attacks ‘PR campaign’ against him

His commentary is not great, maybe acceptable but not great. He would not be missed in the commentary box.

In fact most of Hindi (or a different medium) commentary employs the standard formula:

a) Praise star players

b) Idolize former superstars

c) Talk about India even in a non India game

d) Do dumb predictions

e) Talk about stats without showing depth

Almost all Indian commies are like that with a minor tweak here and there. E.g., if it's Sidhu add in non-sensical muhaawrays and jokes, if it's Sanju Manju add in a point about how he wishes Imran Khan would spend a night with him.

Everything is not PR attack. He’s just bad.

Whose PR he thinks is attacking him?  Irfan?

I have never listened to his commentary. I will be worried if he starts doing English commentary

You don't need to worry at all. That is as unlikely to happen as Kapil becoming an English professor at Oxford.

When he first came he was good. He used to write articles which were bold but one thing, he was always diplomatic.

Commentary in general is horrible. I just cannot stand English all are horrible. Hindi as soon as Sidhu and Aakash come i generally mute so i do agree there is no PR.

Like Sanju Manju, he has a thing for Pak cricketers.

He gets wet describing the experience of Akhtar bowling to him in 2004. Multiple orgasms when the ball touched the bat etc.

None can come to Manju.. that gay loves Imran khan

His voice is very annoying

No one is more annoying than Harsha Bhogle. The moment he begins a sentence with “I wonder…”, you just know he’s about to drift away from the ball-by-ball action and launch into some philosophical monologue.

During the closing stages of South Africa’s innings, instead of focusing on tactics, technique, or the immediate situation, he went into one of those “I wonder…” reflections. Danny Morrison quickly brought it back to reality, pointing out that these players have faced situations like 77 for 5 hundreds of times and know how to recover.

I genuinely don’t understand what credentials Harsha has that keep him in the commentary box.
