vishalvirsingh Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 ashish nehra and Jasprit bumrah might play in the T20 11 straight and I will really acknowledge Australian batsmen if they can hit and be successful against these 2 INDIAN pacers. these 2 pacers have great control and one is a left armer with great experience other has a mlinga type awkward action.these 2 guys will sort of the bowling problem that we are facing at the moment. I strongly believe that both these guys will also play in world t20. tweaker 1

express bowling Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 (edited) Seriously...Pace is good.But we are becoming obsessed with it too much lately..It is not important to have the quickest bowler in the team unless he is a good bowler too.What is important is pacers bowling above a cut-off pace...which in the current era would be roughly 135 k + for a young bowler and .......for an older experienced bowler with great skill...about 130 k +. ( Exceptions to these would be pacers bowling in England and South Africa where there is a lot of seam and swing and slower pacers often succeed ). Bouncy bowlers who hit the deck hard can afford to be a little less quick too.Under these speeds , no matter how good the bowler is...he is usually dealt with easily by top international batsmen and then he will start to err in control too. There have been very few exceptions to this. ( We often see that this does not happen in the first season or maybe two ...as long as the novelty factor is there ...but after that these bowlers usually find it difficult ).In India there is a lot of talk regarding pace because there are so very few who have the minimum pace required to succeed in international cricket.Above the cut-off pace / bounce we should pick the best bowlers available and not necessarily the quickest. That's a good point.Umesh is very tough to watch as an Indian fan except for his speed. Even speed is averaged around 139 kmph.

Most of them top wicket takers in domestic cricket, they were just not successful in international cricket. So I think pace bowlers who get selected to play for India even if they are not express pace they should atleast bowl 135+. Ofcourse pace is just one aspect, they also have to be accurate and/or either extract good bounce(tall bowlers) or should move the bowl around. express bowling, Ironhide, Forever Indian and 1 other 4

puneet28 Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 My one worry is that his unorthodox action may lead to injury. But his straighter one is quite effective as in the air bowling comes into the batsman because of angle but gets behaves like outswinger after getting straight.
