India never had a captain like kohli

Well...

He praises small contributions (Shami's, jadeja's and saha's contribution this series...)

He acknowledges support staff work publicly

He always make sure, bowlers get more lime-light than batsman.

I believe India never had such captain.

I have no doubt in my mind that we will generate world-class bowlers under him. Not because, he has eye for talent but because he encourages bowlers continuously.

every person/captain is unique

He has definitely started on the right note. Hope he can stay that way for the next 5-6 years that he may be captain. Even Dhoni showed great captaincy early on until he became stubborn one day and remained as such.

lets wait for the overseas tours....

He was always stubborn. Its just that early on he inherited a team with  Viru Sachin Laxman Kumble Ganguly and Dravid.

In contrast Kohli inherited a team where he was the senior.

I see lot of good Ponting in him , hopefully he will become as good batsman as Ponting. Ponting never got any credit for winning so much but he had this insane drive of winning every match he played.

Virat Kohli is surely a good captain. But I disagree with those who are saying he is a better captain than Dhoni. According to me, captaincy requires cool-head. Virat is a great, aggressive player. He cannot plan with patience which Dhoni can do.

Have to say we underachieved a lot in the last 5-6 years with the kind of players we had. The captain's cowardice approach harmed our team's morale.

dude .. seriously tell us what dhoni did to your dog?:hehe:

Are you talking about same pointing which has the best team in the world.. they are literally untouchable till 2007.. even a ghada can lead that 1999 to 2007 to victory. When he had a average team he pretty much lost it.

Even after Warne and Mcgrath retired in 2007, Aussies under Ponting were a force unlike Dhoni who instead of looking for win against very weak teams like NZ and WI opted to be safe, there is a reason why India under Dhoni never won more than one match overseas under Dhoni.

The great force that lost Cb series in 2008. Lost WC in 2011 and many more..The reason we don't win much overseas is because you got no good pace bowlers and if you got hacks like Umesh yadav who can bowl phasttt like a bowling machine the ball  will get delivered even more phastter to the boundary line.

The one even virat won against is the shittest sides from sl to nz who are clueless compared to quality players from sanga to pointing at there home

So are they supposed to  remain unbeaten , They won two champions trophies and won test series in SA. What did Dhoni win even with strongest Indian side which Ponting did not with his weakest Aussies teams other than WC.

The same crappy SL side swept Aussies which makes India winning in SL under Virat much more memorable.

assuming this is a timepass thread by OP.. :giggle:

Dhoni is the only wicket keeping captain ever who bowled in a test match..

PS:-

Interestingly this was the 2000th test match and what a way to insult this useless 5 day game :rotfl:

No only 1....could have won the final test before the world famous defensive tactics settled for a draw.

Guess who the MOS was :giggle:

No they won one match in 2011 and one in 2006 , this is first time Indian team won more than one test in WI.The problem I have with Dhoni is even when he had stronger sides he opted to extra safe rather than looking for win, 2009 he chose to set 617 when order of the day was to win the test and Indian were hung out to dry when bad light ended with 2 or three wickets remaining.

Anyone can accept losing when your team is weaker but gives valiant effort, the big problem would be when your captain wants to play safe even against far inferior teams also.

Virat is a good captain but its too soon to say he is the best India ever had..

Couldn't even win the cup with one of the Best team of IPl  since he was captain for 4 to 5 years. Ipl ka chockers tag mila usko. I am confident he ll lose it as captain in pressure situations even for India.

confident? wow you still support team India right? Dhoni chamchas would wish for anything
