msplash9 Posted January 25, 2017 Posted January 25, 2017 Former India captain Rahul Dravid has rejected Bangalore University’s honorary doctorate which was supposed to be conferred to him on 52nd annual convocation to be held on Friday. B. Thimme Gowda, Vice Chancellor of the University told The Hindu that Mr Dravid had reportedly conveyed to the University that he wanted to earn his doctorate by doing research in the field of sports. “He is a graduate of our university and he conveyed this message with all humility,” Prof Gowda said. He also added that the varsity would not confer any doctorate this year at their convocation. Asim, Forever Indian, AuxiliA and 4 others 7

kosingh Posted January 25, 2017 Posted January 25, 2017 Respect. I've never been a fan of honorary doctorates. When they start awarding college professors and other genuine PhD holders honorary IPL contracts, maybe we can give cricketers honorary doctorates. New guy, AuxiliA, sscomp32 and 1 other 4

goose Posted January 25, 2017 Posted January 25, 2017 It's all very Dravid and maybe i'm just too cynical but when the world has a particular image/perception of you it's all too easy to perpetuate that image. The runs are there to be had. sarchasm and New guy 2

Clutch lol, It is easy to be clutch when you are not as consistent as sachin, Sachin scored so many times and was let down by his teammates (which included both dravid and layman) where did these clutch players go on the 1999 tour of australia and countless tours of south africa? Or even in the epic chennai chase against pakistan beetle and jusarrived 2
sandeep Posted January 25, 2017 Posted January 25, 2017 why drag Sachin into this? Unneccessary. And RD fans can big-up their "good boy" as much as they like - won't change reality. Gambit, Unleashed, ykvyas and 1 other 4
