People seem to be missing the meaning of "Hype".

Make no mistake i am a part of the hype club.

Hype is a very negative word....may be "campaigning"  sounds better or "making a case for" or "bringing raw talent to the forefront".

eg; maniac was campaigning for Pant long before he showed in the A games he belongs

eg; maniac was rightfully making a case for Ishant long before he won India the Lords test or Rohit before his 2 200's

eg; maniac brought raw talents to the forefront like Smith,Root,Renshaw etc

Makes more sense

Cricket Acumen and english comprehension died a graphic death here...it fell of a cliff, bounced off a boulder when it crashed and then impaled itself onto a tree stump...while fighting for it's life it's head was bitten off by a mountain leopard. sorry had to be a less graphic given this is a family website.

WHo says Pandya didn't deserve to be in the T20 scheme of things.....it was when people were campaigning him to be in test squads and have a guaranteed shot in the starting line up was lol worthy...especially even after the follow up IPL and Domestic seasons he didn't do much of note.

Froggy, what your "acumen" doesn't allow you to realize, is that in a squad that had to keep selecting Stuart Binny as the seam bowling allrounder - Hardik Pandya is a clear upgrade.  Worthy of investment.   Its understandable - hard for you to see much beyond tailunt's pot-belly, not much left except for peripheral vision :p:

Not sure . Everyone says with our domestic speed guns need to add 5 mph . No idea how this exact figure to add on came about lol any scientific evidence on this lol

listen bowled 140 in some games . Well done but I saw videos and my mouth did not drop in awe. Mega hype here. We need to see him bowl properly

he did bowl 142 several times, he was pretty fast visibly. I am excited, he looks similar to when Yadav came into the scene in IPL.

And isn't that a positive?  I for one, am glad that in a screwed up politics ridden country like India, the cricket selection is reasonably structured and the merit-based prospects appear to be getting through for the most part.

agree, cricket is doing it right, surprisingly.

I was about to mention him. He is hyped because he has built some muscles.Focus is only on speed now bowling gayi tel lene.

Basil thumpi is another one though I admit I haven't watched enough of him to ridicule the hype he is generating.

Here is ICF hype list of the week in decreasing order of hype:

1.Pant

2.Kuldeep

3.Basil thampi

4.Aniket Chaudhary

5.P Sanghwan

6.I Sharma (Honourable mention )

Didn't Sangwan get banned a few years ago for doping or was it someone else?

Inspite of mile high hype, selectors are still stuck on Dinda,Vinay .Nehra.

Shreyas Iyer,Hooda,Kuldeep should have been part of the squad but still we are stuck with old players.

Inspite of the hype ,it is made out that there are no ready players available in the domestic cricket who can replace the tried & tested failures.

It was made out that there are no wicket keeper batsman who can replace Dhoni.Ishant went on playing inspite of not improving his performance.

There are many young players who are ready to step in the next direction, if the selectors know which players can be successful in international cricket.

All the hyped players ie  Anikeet,Ankit,Kuldeep,Shreyas,Hooda,Nathu  have potentials to be successful in the international cricket if they get a chance when they are in their prime

Rather than hype, I would call it good healthy discussion. What is the point of this forum if new young talent cannot be discussed? All the players mentioned have the potential to succeed, does not mean that they WILL succeed. But no harm in discussing them. I would have never known of Basil Thampi if not for this forum.

you need to start watching games. People are watching in the games properly. Address for the games. Starsports 2, hotstar.com and willow tv if you are in US and Canada. All the games are live.

What was Hype Thampi and Super Hype Pant's performance?

Thampi bowled well in a game where his partners legend and Aravind went for 10 and 12 an over, 4 overs 28 for 1. Pant came in when they needed 13 an over after test batting by GG and Dhawan, scored quickly 13 ball 25, got stumped trying to hit out.
