Gollum Posted June 18, 2017 Posted June 18, 2017 Granted we have a 11-0 streak going against them in CWC and T20. But we might not play them in a major ICC final for another 20 years. TBH today was the highest profile match against them since the 1985 B&H finals (Mohali, as big as it was, still a SF only). I don't rate WT20 that highly, for me mini world cup/CT with top 8 teams playing in 50 over format is 2nd only to CWC. With everything at stake and in spite of our mental edge we were hammered badly today, 180 runs are you freaking kidding me...you would expect that scorecard when Singapore cricket team plays a top 8 side. The most one sided and brutal beatdown in the history of CWC/CT finals. We may get a chance to play them in such a huge final in the future but we are never going to thrash them by 180 runs in a major final. In fact I don't see any ICC final in the next 100 years being such a massacre unless this same Indian team shows up again in 2019. Pak have ensured that they have the upper hand in spite of 11-0, until we beat them like this in the future. Already they have test H2H lead, ODI H2H lead and the most one sided finals victory in the history of the game against us. We have to be forever underneath their shadows in the rivalry unless we repeat 1985 finals or hammer them in a WC final some day. Truly today was the black day in Indian cricketing history, a bunch of spineless cowards wore the blues and humiliated their country in front of the global stage. What happened today is unprecedented, believe me. May be you can compare this beatdown to the RG 2008 F where Nadal steamrolled Federer 6-1 6-3 6-0. To top it off no shame on the faces of our overpampered, overhyped maharathis in the presentation ceremony. It was as if Kohli enjoyed being Sarfaraz's little *****. 11-0 has been avenged on Kohli's watch, history will remember him as the fool who gave the most shambolic captaincy display seen on the cricket field, history will remember this skinning until we repay them back in their own coin. Many traitors all over India have been bursting crackers non stop today, Kashmiri piglets are provoking our army jawans as I type, jawans who are ready to lay down their lives at the snap of a finger to defend us. But apparently our maharathis don't give a damn. It is the next IPL party, the next Bollywood show, the next fashion shoot in their minds. Zero patriotism, zero enthusiasm, poor body language, no pride...Pakistanis had the mean don't eff with us look on their faces while our rockstars turned up thinking it was an ad shoot. No semblance of any fight, loss by 180 runs....eff off. Asim and Tendu_10 2
Sidhoni Posted June 18, 2017 Posted June 18, 2017 (edited) Agreed. Mentioned it in another thread. I won't say "come to naught". But the sheen of it has diminished. Having said that this match's significance won't ever come close to India-Pak matches in WCs of '96, '03 or '11. Edited June 18, 2017 by Sidhoni
zen Posted June 18, 2017 Posted June 18, 2017 Overaction .... 1 Pandya is enough for Pakistan .... Today, everything went Pak's way and CT has a history of underdogs / dark horses winning .... BD made it to SF too Tendu_10 and Adi_91 2

Adi_91 Posted June 18, 2017 Posted June 18, 2017 The magnitude of the defeat is staggering and evokes a sense of utter annihilation. BUT... Indian Cricket Team is a far better, balanced one day outfit than Pakistan and today's result I hope motivates them to play better.
Laaloo Posted June 18, 2017 Posted June 18, 2017 Seems like you are taking it harder than everyone else. Hope your tv is safe.
maniac Posted June 18, 2017 Posted June 18, 2017 Dude it's just a game...yes gutted....have fun with the family aur shyam ke time do peg and wash it down with some ice cream and everything will be fine. Ankit_sharma03 1

Anyway, next year, ICC will organize WT20 and will keep an India-Pak fixture and we'll back to cheerleading. Tendu_10 1
nevada Posted June 18, 2017 Posted June 18, 2017 Look, all streaks come to an end sometime or the other. Today it was time. It is the manner of the loss which rankles. Pandya showed that even when all seems lost, you can still fight to salvage some pride at-least. Too bad everyone went awol, not even bothering to fight to reduce the margin of defeat. PBN Posted June 18, 2017 Posted June 18, 2017 Oh please. world cup streak is still intact. india has lost to pakistan in CT before. This isn't WC someone, Under_Score, Tendu_10 and 3 others 6

Before the game, in CT, Ind -Pak were at 2-2. Now it is 2-3

Having said that this match's significance won't ever come close to India-Pak matches in WCs of '96, '03 or '11. We didn't go on to win WC 1996 and 2003, so they obviously can't be compared. Mohali I agree was huge but still not a Final. Moreover Pak competed pretty well for more than half the match. Here it was a massacre right from the onset. Generally when 2 teams make the finals, it is very rare that one team annihilates another because only the best 2 teams(or in form) make the finals making it a closely contested tussle. 2003 WC final was a massacre but that was the GOAT team, still margin was only 125 runs and we were ahead of D/L when rainstorms threatened to wash out the match. This Pak team is nothing compared to that Oz team, and they have annihilated us, I don't know the exact teem to describe such an event. Imagine Germany meeting France in a football WC final and crushing them 10-0, this was that bad. The sheen hasn't been diminished, the entire streak has been murdered, torn to shreds, chewed up and spat out. Bigg Brother, Adi_91 and Tendu_10 3

Also yes this was the biggest ever loss in an ICC final, bettering our loss in 2003. Yes manner of defeat is shameful. Still at the end this is CT, always having upsets and underdogs winning. Aus got knocked out first round, surely had better chances than most at the start.

panther Posted June 18, 2017 Posted June 18, 2017 Untill we beat India in 50over world cup, nothing is avenged, today for me avenged the 2007 T20 world cup final.

Cricketics Posted June 18, 2017 Posted June 18, 2017 Lol the kind of hard core fan I have been of Indian cricket from ages as you and many would know on ICF, I have moved on and accepted the defeat. I am like man come on we win every now and then and just won a world cup and CT and did reach semis in 2015 and finals of t20 world cup in 2014 and semis of t20 wc in 2016 amd now finals here, surely our team is doing better than most. I think it is hurting some people more bcause it came against Pak, but we shouldn't worry as I still feel we are better team and were just given a tough game by a team who was just better against us on this one big sunday. They deserved it this time and they won. We still hold edge against them and I feel we got better player and talent to beat them in future regularly. I am not at all hurt now have moved on. I think some of these guys would do good if theh stop checking social media or stop reading comment sections of fb and cricinfo pages or different forums and getting in argument with padosis. Its their time and they have earned it and let them enjoy. We will be back after some time. We reached final guys. Its all right. We still have more ICC trophies and will always be contender to win more and will hope win one in 2019
