Robin Singh was more of AR, Kapil was best ODI AR ever and Mongia was keeper. Karthik is playing as specialist batsman and he is only batsman with 0 centuries. Jadeja plays more as bowler than a batsman. 

 

He has played 53 matches as specialist batsman and still averages 30 as batsman with SR of 72.

I really want to ask selectors - In terms of ability there is nothing wrong with him but temperament wise he is not there. So how come scoring runs in domestic cricket under no pressure makes selectors believe he has figured his problem out. Even if they do how many times have we done same mistake in last 14 yrs and yet not learned from it.

yea who knws if he was made to bat up the order rather at 7 where he walways had the pressure to score quick which was not his forte he might have done better.

Such a disastrous pick from selectors.

They don't have a very difficult job as 75% of the squad picks itself for all 3 formats of the sport and they still come up with this mind-boggling selections.

Even India-A selections seem all over the place. They are trying to create a pool of 75 players instead of focusing on 5-10 solid reserves.

Karthik has been given plenty of chances. He is one of those guys that remind me of guys who join as junior analyst in a company and stay as junior analyst for the rest of his period in the company. There is no drive, growth, motivation.

Ishant is not the worst pacer we had in past. He finds place in Indian team on merit.

yea their wud another season of domestic where he wud pile on runs and ipl where he wud score more then dhoni (not a gr8 benchmark) and selectors, captain n aam janta will get hallucinations that he has improved.

KKD had the opportunity of playing alongside some of the top Indian players ever. Tendulkar, Dravid, Laxman, Ganguly later Pujara, Kohli. He never had any peaks in his career. Always average in between a couple of decent innings. I thought he changed after witnessing his consistency in the first class. Alas. It is not to be the case.

I am surprised how he finds a comeback time and time again. We have guys lined up for that place, but rather than investing in young blood, selectors are giving him chance. Rahul, Iyer, Samson, Pant, Nitish Rana, K Pandeya and the list goes on. How can one ignore Rahul for this guy? Firstly we had Rayadu playing in Indian team for 1-2 years and now this guys. For God sake, selectors should select some youngster. 

I seriously hope that Rahul makes it big in T20s and score at least 200+ runs to make it a statement.
