The Dark Horse Posted January 3, 2018 Posted January 3, 2018 "India have played most of their games at home so it'll be interesting to see how they go in South Africa. It's a total different ball game here. We're going to have to wait and see once they pass the first Test match," said Philander in a media interaction here. https://www.google.co.in/amp/s/m.timesofindia.com/sports/cricket/india-in-south-africa/philander-questions-indias-preparedness-for-test-series/amp_articleshow/62355522.cms Let the games begin GoldenSun 1

King Tendulkar Posted January 3, 2018 Posted January 3, 2018 Can’t wait for this . Literally foaming at mouth waiting for this
Shamim.Miah Posted January 3, 2018 Posted January 3, 2018 Why don't ICC introduce a rule where teams are not allowed to play more than 60% of the matches home? preferable balance would be 50% home 50% away, or impose a 60% max home matches rule. Teams like India/Australia/South Africa if they play most of their matches home, they will win most comfortably. Hence, most of the stats will be favoured towards the home teams, be it personal stats or national records. Rasgulla and beetle 2
veer Posted January 3, 2018 Posted January 3, 2018 Exactly... I am looking forward to our awesome pace bowling but expecting below par batting

We will play more than 80% of the games overseas in the next year. That's like Bangladesh cricket's entire history.

We play equal no of games home and away with Aus, Eng, SA, NZ and very sparingly invite teams like Lanka, WI, Bangladesh...so more overseas tests for us. Check the stats of SRT, Dravid, Ganguly, all of them have played more away matches than home. adi B 1

These guys played around 60% matches away from home compared to say English players who play 60% at home and boost their record

That's like Bangladesh cricket's entire history. Yes. That’s when you will find out how strong India really is. But 80% that’s not a good balance. I think ICC look into a more balanced home and away ratio for teams, so we can get a clear idea of how good the teams are.

The 40% of the matches India played away from home includes mostly matches against Sri Lanka.
