  1. 1. Is Hardik as valuable as Kapil Dev?

    • Yes, his contributions at least in limited overs cricket makes him invaluable
    • No, he has a LONG way to go to even elicit a comparison with Kapil Dev
    • Hardik Pandya is only hyped "bits and pieces" player. He can never be as valuable.

Kapil never skipped a match for injury for a long tim

Kapil played 131 tests and missed only 1 in between and it was not because of injuries. This despite him bowling lots of overs in each test

Could not help bump this thread.

It is probably safe now to say that he stamped his name as the best allrounder who played for India with the (possible) exception of Kapil Dev.

How did he stamp based on batting alone? To stamp he has to perform in BOTH bowling and batting. How is he better than jadeja as an alll rounder?

yes He was dropped. One of the best run out specialists ever. Especially he and ALan border were direct hit specialists.

"He has to do both the jobs to be considered an all-rounder. He is not bowling, so can we call him all-rounder? Let him bowl, he has come out from the injury," said Kapil, at the Royal Calcutta Golf Course, on Friday.

Forget comparing, here's what Kapil Dev had to say in isolation as all rounder :p:

Pandu bowling is club level. Absolute tripe

You don't understand bowling culture. You are from subcontinent  and not a NRI (or are you?) living in a Forrain nation. Only those people have true understanding of sports.

Kapil Dev has been acting like a dumb sheet for a while. If anyone says that all the batsman need to start bowling then he clearly has been left behind. KD was very fortunate. He will not break into current Indian rotation.
