His batting and keeping would have suited tests, more than ODIs and T20s.

 

Would have been valuable under Kohli's captaincy.

 

What if he had played SA series and now England series? He has done well at both places and could have created the difference which Parthiv couldn't.

 

Seeing how we suffered after injury of Saha in SA series, Kohli should ask him to return back as wicketkeeper-batsman for current series in case Saha isn't fit.

Yes, his game is more suited for tests when he can just block and extend the play.

but i think he could not have kept for whole day. may be he would have just about retired after SA tour. Its obviously his choice to keep himself relevant in LOI for longer.

No. saha's done a decent job. Dhoni should have retired from ODI's 3 years ago and T20's atleast 2 years ago after the World t20.

Test cricket too much work and no give as much money, commericals and popularity so Dhoni play limited over until Dhoni say so.

Fitness isn't issue with him. Isuue is hitting international bowlers which he won't miss in tests.

 

It still isn't too late for a comeback.

I'll tell you what would have happened if he overstayed in test format ,his game would have further deteriorated and would have not gone for any of the catches which saha does

but when he was retired from tests he was not fit. he had gain some flab and his back was giving up.  test retirement gave him breather to work on fitness.

No, he rightly retired from tests. Now he needs to retire from other formats

No he should have retired from all formats long time back. He never had good technique or range of shots to begin with but he made up with his guts and street smartness.

 

Like Sehwag who once his reflexes showed down was never the same player, Dhoni falls in same category, he might look physically fit but bat speed is simply not there.He needs to go ASAP.
