Asia Cup squad announced, Rohit to lead.... Khaleel Selected

Agree with some of the sentiments here. Krunal, Pant & Gowtham should have played. Atleast a game against the qualifier would have done them good for a start and performance dependent, they could have been slotted in for the later games.

But pleased to see Khaleel being picked!

Do you think India relies only on Kohli? The team is not very dissimilar to which played against England. Only Kohli and Raina are missing

Our problem is middle order and we have replaced Raina with two similar mediocre cricketers with no upside, just betrays the illogical selectors fooling the cricket fans

at least no top three looks solid

Rohit, Dhawan and Rahul

DK should play

On these pitches Dhoni will be ok

it’s a toss up between Rayudu, Pandey and Kedar, Kedar’s spin is handy but rubbish fielder, athlete, runner

Dhoni is the biggest leech in the history of Indian cricket.

What is this with Indian players playing beyond their expiry date. Who was the last Indian player to retire at the right time?

Pakistan will beat us 3 times out of 3, that H2H record is in downward spiral. By the end of September they will be leading the ODI H2H in the 2003-2018 period, our greatest era vs their worst.

Ideally I wanted Pant in place of Maahi (aka maar raha hai) :giggle: but still not a bad squad.

My playing XI:

Dhawan
Rahul
Rohit
Karthik
Dhoni
Jadhav
Pandey
Kuldeep
Chahal
Bhuvi
Booom

Among high profile cricketers Dravid and Laxman are the most recent ones, may be even Sehwag. I believe these great players must be given 6-8 months leeway before they realize they can't beat Father Time, nothing more than that. Dhoni's expiry date in T20s was 2012 and in ODIs 2015 WC.

Tendulkar played for a bit too long too. He should have retired after the WC win. Still can't figure out why didn't he retire after that night in Mumbai. What else did he want to achieve in ODIs?

India can't afford to lose to Pakistan again and again that too after that CT debacle

Utter garbage!! Worse than a rotten potato sack :wall: when are we getting riddance from these pathetic selectors and  garbage  like karthik, jadav, axar, manish ??? Why was pant not selected???

Mayank, krunal, saini and gowtham should have been there

Not done really not done... Horrendous job by selectors

Moreover khaleel is there just to fill numbers knowing coward Rohit sharma and shastri thakoor will be preferred.

It's a well known fact that Pak players dont retire on time and the main reason behind that is financial but why Indian players dont retire on time given that they are one of the most richest cricketers
