DUde.. you dont have to be so "MI" Patriotic. We just call what we see it.  He got away with few drag downs y day.

Lol great way to cope out. If I was trying to be MI patriotic, I would be big fan of siddesh lad or Surya Kumar Yadav. Krunal Pandya is pretty good. You can stay salty because your regional player Sundar Washington didn't get selected and Pandya did.

You are a sour man. I openly canvas against KKD. You keep thinking everyone is like you.

You mean the guy who started the trend of making a ball into triangle shape when there were no camera on?

Give Vijay Shankar a triangle shaped ball and see how many batsman can smack him with tree sized bats

Batsmen couldn't play him that's the truth. Krunal is a very smart bowler. You don't need to turn the ball like murali or flight the ball like Warne. There is space for accurate bowlers like Kumble and Vettori who trouble batsmen with subtle variations of pace and someone like Jaddu whose success has surprised many experts like you.

I think as a spinner this guy is like a notch above Jadhav. What happens is that teams go after him cause they see a means to score quick runs. He picks up some wickets in the process. You miss I hit bowler.

Averages 11 with the bat and 20 with the ball in 5 away games in Aus and NZ. Not great numbers.

Maybe somebody like Krunal might be a fit in some lesser teams. But I feel India can do better.

He's playing at #8, i.e. a bowler's slot, and holding his own there with ball in hand.  With bat, he hasn't impressed yet, especially against short stuff, but there's enough there to expect him to figure it out and be a good contributor.  Importantly, he has demonstrated that he has the temperament to play at the highest level.

Its a shame that Sundar got injured when he did, because its widely believed that he has a much higher ceiling with the bat.  Even if its purely on age and hype, I'd rather see Sundar get a proper run.  But now that Krunal is here, he's doing OK.  I would have liked to see him bat instead of Dhoni last night. Guy hasn't had a proper audition with the bat.

Don't fall for this numbers. He just darted the ball into righties by pitching halfway through. Not every day they are going to miss this. He absolutely did nothing special.

I think that's what he appears like on first glance, but I think there is more to him than that. Variations in pace etc. that is not detectable to us viewers.

Commentary was mentioning how the Kane W wicket was bowled faster at 95kph.

I have seen him create chances even with seemingly innocuous deliveries. He's got the 'knack', and definitely has that street-smartness about him which is very useful and goes beyond traditional technical correctness.

Yes, he does need to work on his batting, but in a tricky chase, he won't be like Ishant or Chahal at the crease, you can actually depend on him to be aware enough to rotate strike, and also hit some.

Not only pace but length also , thats why he has been doing well till now . Its easy to say he darts but that cnt get success....he is not only varying his pace n length but also reading the batsman well .

A decent knock with the bat.

However 4 overs for 54 runs that too bowling in the middle overs.... as highlighted before i dont think he earns his wickets. More of a case of how the opposition handle him which depends on a combination of factors.

Surprised nobody bumped this thread....

6 T20s in Aus and NZ, was the highest wicket taker for the team with 9 wkts. Khaleel had 7 and Bhuvi 5 wkts in the same number of matches. Two MoMs for his bowling, showed he can bat as well. Could have done better but not the worst performer either.

Very limited in both areas , dont see him as a genuine AR . Compare him with Jadeja , who i think is a far better bowler and as good a bat

Yes. Not sure if he is a long term investment. Since it is T20 bilateral i don't care. Can you really walk into world T20 with his bowling? Teams will target him. Not sure if he is a reliable lower order hitter either. You can't push him up the order as well. Sort of an in-between player who could come off once in a while on low bounce tracks. Gotta be very good atleast in one of his department. Quintessential bits and pieces player.

yeah what your looking as bare minimum from an AR is at least he has one role sorted . Precisely point you make about his batting , hes never going to be a no7 for us . its not that he looks bad now , but that I dont see him ever improving . The basics are all wrong for power hitting just like Jadeja .

Yes. Hardik is inconsistent. But his batting basics are good. He has potential. Krunal will fade away soon. Probably he can still bully some IPL teams. India can play him in bilateral. But they have to keep looking for some clean hitters who can bowl economically.

Do look at Jadeja’s T20 record in 10 years of playing the format. In fact, compare their overall T20 record. Krunal is a better LOI player.

Jadeja is a proper all rounder in Tests while Krunal is a LOI specialist. Neither of them should be in WC squad though.
