Why no Alex Hales?

He was tested positive for recreational drugs, banned by English board for 3 weeks & dropped from English preliminary squad.

Good squad.

Mark Wood slightly lucky to be there, but I guess he provides something different from all other English pacers (except Archer) ie. raw pace.

Perfect team. This is how you prepare and develop players for a World Cup and that's how you select the best available. It took them 4 years to get here but, boy, that looks a frighteningly good squad . Rightly considered favourites for the World Cup in these conditions.

poor willey But they think Plunkett is their wicket taker in the middle overs.

Willey was the one who gave a statement that Archer mustn't walk into the English squad just like that & its unlucky Archer is taking his place. Plunkett, now at 34, is now a much better prospect for England, capable to form crucial partnerships with the bat & a good pace option.
