Rohit/Dhawan vs Starc/Cummins - How to handle ?

It almost feels like India will be 40/2 on Sunday facing Starc and Cummins. To add to it, Dhawan is in terrible form.

Thoughts ?

Is Pandya opening vs Australia ?

thread assumes a 40/2 situation so the next step is to see who has the potential to pull Ind out of that hole

The best way to handle these guys is to attack. Don't go into a shell and think about playing them out. We are not playing World Cup final this Sunday. It's like any other game, go and attack those two Aussies. That is what Rohit and Dhawan are good at. If you try to negotiate their spell like if its test cricket then they will fall eventually if not to these two, then to some other dude whom they would try to hit every ball in order to up the run rate which they couldn't earlier.

Better to attack and make sure Finch is asked to change his bowlers right away. Take a cue from Sehwag's semi final knock against Pakistan. Your strength is to attack remember.

After watching the current match for some time. They only have two bowlers. If you can see them off you can score runs.

Exactly ,without jhye or Lyon their bowling looks a bit off in the middle.

Ncn,stoinis,Maxwell can be easily targetted, zampa is a nemesis for Indians!

But India will have a tough time facing starc and Cummins specially, it's hard to see India not losing 2 wkts in the first 10

Need to play conservatively in the first 10 overs and see off first spells of Starc and Cummins.

Pretty much. Rohit did that well yesterday, beaten once or twice but left many deliveries and tonked some sixes later. Dhawan just hangs his bat out.
