India is going great guns in last couple of decades with great economic growth, or at least that what it looks like, they just re-elected their very popular PM, then why India fare so poorly in the list of the happiest countries in the world. Its in red zone  at # 140, among one of the most unhappy countries in the world. The "always in trouble" Pakistanis seems to be much happier with their self being at 67. Any idea why, its a surprise for me too.

Its because our country is filled with poverty and suicidal farmers and that the India that everyone sees is only 1 percent of what India really is. Come to the Mumbai or Delhi slums and you'll see what India really is.

Thats a surprise, out side India , particularly here in USA, India's perception is quite positive. A nation with rapidly growing economy, making great progress in technology, producing millionaires in great numbers. May be all true but Indians need to learn how to party and have fun.

Pretty straight forward. Indians in general think they can be in better position than they are at present. Hence the discontent and unhappiness.

If they are much happier why are so many phateecharstanis pretending to be Indian on an Indian forum :dontknow:

That's the language of an unhappy and frustrated person.

That's the response of a Phateecharstani. I do wonder why a certain section of Phateecharstanis are so ashamed of embracing their identity.

regardless of whether we rank "high" or "low", most rankings must be viewed with suspicion. their methodologies are often not made public, and the choice of weighting and computing is questionable many a time.

Generally, Indians are all work and no play. This results in a boring ass life with lots of regrets.

A man won't be happy , even if he gets chicken biryani.
