diga Posted August 23, 2019 Posted August 23, 2019 Quote Royal Challengers Bangalore have brought the axe down on Gary Kirsten and Ashish Nehra, the batting and bowling coach respectively, in reaction to the team's continued failure to put up strong results at the IPL. In a major overhaul of the backroom staff, the franchise has appointed former New Zealand head coach Mike Hesson as director of cricket and former Australia batsman Simon Katich as head coach. According to Sanjeev Churiwala, the Royal Challengers chairman, the move to switch to a single-coach model became necessary because the franchise wanted to achieve "high performance". In a statement, Royal Challengers said that Hesson would be the pointsperson for all cricket matters going forward, including being responsible for "defining policy, strategy, programs, scouting, performance management and bringing in best practices throughout all aspects of the RCB's cricketing pathway". He will also be part of the management team and will liaise with Kohli and Katich on all cricketing issues. https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/_/id/27444528/gary-kirsten-ashish-nehra-mike-hesson-simon-katich-in

Insidious Posted August 23, 2019 Posted August 23, 2019 Kohli for RCB has been horrible. The only good thing about him is he backed fast bowlers.
kaptaan Posted August 23, 2019 Posted August 23, 2019 Aakash Chopra @cricketaakash If constantly changing support staff hasn’t changed the fortunes of the team, it’s time to admit that, perhaps, the problem lies elsewhere. #RCB #Nehra #Vettori #Kirsten velu, beetle, saik and 3 others 1 3 2
TheWall Posted August 23, 2019 Posted August 23, 2019 Kohli should be removed from captaincy... sandsaims 1
bowl_out Posted August 23, 2019 Posted August 23, 2019 The only good thing from this is if things work out between Hesson and Kohli, then Hesson could be considered as Shastri's replacement post 2021, maybe even earlier

The Realist Posted August 23, 2019 Posted August 23, 2019 Kirsten is a serial loser. Still gets gigs despite almost a decade of winning nothing.

kosingh Posted August 24, 2019 Posted August 24, 2019 Losing with Captain Kohli probably brings more revenues than winning with another captain.
Forever Indian Posted August 24, 2019 Posted August 24, 2019 Hesson is Kirsten's replacement, is Katich Nehra's replacement as Bowling coach? Wouldn't be surprised given it's RCB... bahubali 1
