Feroz Shah Kotla to be renamed as Arun Jaitley Stadium

I am not a fan of Jet-Li the Finance Minister, but he seems to be popular among Dhilli cricketers from his time in DDCA. It will be a popular move I think. 

 

IMO, stadiums should actually be renamed after great athletes, or, at worst, great historical figures from the region itself, rather than random politicians, but morons who were silent when every third lamppost was named after trash politicians like Nehru/Indira/Rajiv who hurt the country more than benefited it, suddenly waking up today is ironic in itself.  Rabid pidis are never short of things to bark about. 

 

Now, if only they renamed the ground itself. Chews who support the naming after Feroz Shah can jump in a volcano. The name will be changed eventually

Only thing that looks bad is that the current DDCA President Rajat Sharma is a close friend and protege of Jaitley. But as others are indicating that Jaitley as DDCA prez has done enough to earn this by himself.

Firuz Shah Tughlaq razed down Puri's Jagannath temple, glad his name has been removed. I am not one of those who will support glorification of barbarian invaders. He was one of the most rabid Islamist dogs to rule Delhi, a cruel, ruthless, intolerant, bloodthirsty despot even when accounting for Muslim rulers of that era (or any era). Hate *ers like him, history can not be changed but the least we owe to our ancestors is not to glorify their tormentors be it FST, Khilji, Babur, Aurangzeb, Vasco Da Gama or Robert Clive.

 

Don't like Jai Italy, he was as corrupt and devious as they come, and a Congressi mole in BJP. I would have preferred it being named after the first Delhi cricket superstar Bishan Singh Bedi (like in tennis where they name showpiece courts after Billie Jean King, Arthur Ashe, Rod Laver, Nadal etc) or even a non-cricketer like GOAT Dhyan Chand....stadiums named after our great sportsmen is more fitting. 99% of our cricket administrators and babus are crooks who only deserve to be shot in their genitalia. Jai Italy was an awwal number ka chor/dhongi, yeah he passed away recently and all that **** but truth is undeniable....he doesn't deserve this. Remove all these admin/politician names from our stadiums and bestow the honour upon the likes of Dhyan Chand, Balbir Singh Sr, Vishy Anand, Amritraj, Paes, Gopichand, Milkha Singh, PT Usha, Anju Bobby George, Malleswari, Sushil Kumar, Sachin, Kapil etc.....no shortage of sporting icons even though we are a weak sporting nation. These are inspiring names which future generations will aspire to emulate.

Dude I didn't know that freoz shah was an invader. And I don't think Jetli did something special with DDCA. If they want to name after him, more power to them. But I would have preferred some past cricketer's name from that region on the stadium like Bedi. Somebody here mentioned the main tennis court in the US Open is named after Arthur Ashe who was an American tennis legend. Rod Laver's name is used for the main stadium in the Aus Open. Also if you had read my post properly, I also said I don't like Gandhi and Nehru's name on every other street. There is almost no street named after Bhagat singh and many of the freedom fighters from TN

If we have wankhede, chidambaram, chinnasway , IS bhidra stadiums named after CA prezs or admins, why not for DDCA? It's their prerogative to name it after Arun Jaitley or whoever they choose. Nobody is opposing it from CA, so why should we bother?

Especially after how Rajiv Gandhi publicly  humiliated the then Andhra CM Anjaiah. What happened to Telugu Atmagowravam? Every 2nd thing is named after one of those wretched family members, even the Bandra-Worli Sea Link. Our highest sporting honour is 'Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna', what was that SOB's contribution towards Indian sports?

No need cos Hauz Khaus was not a ruler who committed genocide. This *er destroyed Jagannath temple which has a special place in the hearts of Odias, Bongs...and many others, who knows how many of our ancestors suffered. Just like Bakhtiyar Khilji's destruction of Nalanda, Vikramshila except the fact that our ancestors were more resilient.

 

Besides this stadium was constructed recently, should be named after a modern icon, or some old timer who best represents India...for instance Buddha (Buddh racing circuit in nearby Greater Noida) is a great symbol rather than some bloodthirsty barbarian of 1300s. Maybe keep it simple like the Ausssies...Delhi Cricket Ground (DCG) or some recent icon (of last 150 odd years), wouldn't mind if some of the unsung national/sporting heroes like Bhagat Singh, Vivekananda, Dhyan Chand etc get their due..or even the local hero Bishan Singh Bedi (1st superstar from there, Pataudi played more for Hyderabad, Jimmy more for Punjab ).

 

Not a fan of BJP icons getting the honour, they are pygmies compared to the great men our land has produced. The name should mean something...all our stadiums (Wankhede, Chidambaram, Chinnaswamy, Bindra, Raga Sr....) could have been served with better names.

I am all for name changing ,especially change those which are named after barbaric mughal invaders but this particular move is silly.

Arun jaitley has nothing to do with cricket and that area has historic significance, but you cant expect the whole party (bjp) to be clean and thoughtful ,there will always be some dolts !
