retired_hurt Posted January 7, 2020 Posted January 7, 2020 Was horribly biased selector. Always preferred Tamil Nadu and Chennai Super kings players for the squad. Remember him giving Badrinath B grade over some other deserving players. Vengsarkar was by far the best selector we had in a long time. Laaloo, Cricwala, Rightarmfast and 3 others 1 5

Badrinath averaged 60 in First class and deserved a run in Tests at least.. he played some 2-3 Tests, which is the least he should have got considering his domestic numbers The Dark Horse 1

mani sha Posted January 7, 2020 Posted January 7, 2020 Sri never played selfish - before viru it was Sri who showed how to play selfless he is spot on - rahul wins u matches and can keep too if main keeper gets injured . Dhawan is an awesome odi but not a t20 player shardul- useful lower order bat . 5 th bowler only if other 4 can strike .. with pandya back shardul will be out . But shardul is not as bad as zaleel Frustrated and saik 2

But I remember Vengsarkar for giving chance to young players like Rohit and Uthappa. I am sure I am forgetting many more. Everyone has their bias but we did unearth quite a few young players during his tenure.

Credit must be given to selectors if their picks go on to have big careers. I don't think anyone can accuse Prasad of regionalism, he is just incompetent. Vengsarkar gave chances to youngsters( thanks for reminding kohli also made his debut under him) irrespective of their states, always found China to be biased in that regard.
Suhaan Posted January 7, 2020 Posted January 7, 2020 Lol Srikanth will make sure Dhoni leads us in wc23 and return of Raina with other csk buddies nevada 1
G_B_ Posted January 8, 2020 Posted January 8, 2020 Every selector will have their preferences... Hard to be totally unbiased Khota 1
Khota Posted January 8, 2020 Posted January 8, 2020 If Sirikanth says that he is bold but if someone sides with Dhawan they are not.
